Safeway

We are Val and John Private chefs and.we often buy our products at Safeway. The quality is very good and the staff is super professional and helpful.

This is the best Safeway and, arguably, the best grocery store on the island. The store is bright, modern, and spacious. There's a great area for produce and deli, complete with a lot of food counters. The selection is excellent with a vast array of food and household staples plus a good assortment of international products, including areas for Asian and Hispanic items. Prices are reasonable (for Hawaii), especially if you're a member of Safeway's "For U" rewards program (it's free to join). As an added bonus, the store is on the approach path to Kahului Airport so you can often see planes flying low from the parking lot!

This is probably the coldest Safeway on the island & I absolutely love it. They’re ac works so well, I actually wouldn’t be surprised if I ever saw any ice sculptures on display. (Which if you ever do, please let me know I’d love to snap a few pics.) But seriously shopping here is like my affordable escape. I can bundle up like I’m going somewhere cold without forking out an expensive plane ticket to do so.

You might find it strange, but yes I’m a shopaholic & I do love shopping here. Being able to walk up & down the aisles is seriously my favorite form of exercise. I get to burn a few calories while looking for more to take home. It’s also one of my favorite things to do on a date night. Browsing for sweet treats, picking out a fun new wine to try. Plus just on the lookout for some fresh ingredients. To me it’s always exciting to pick up some fresh, healthy & delicious ingredients.

Plus another one of my shopping perks is the Starbucks in the corner. Not only am I in my shopping element but having what I call my crack, a matcha frappe. Is the quickest way to make me smile. Also for some reason that taste of fresh cut grass in the form of tea is actually surprisingly tasty. I’d recommend trying it a few times, before giving up hope on it because it really does grow on you.

P.S. There’s a cashier that deserves some kudos. So I just wanted to give her a shout out for your excellent customer service. You were friendly & good at your job. You made waiting in line quick & pleasant.

This place has some of the best meats ever. Still cut filet mignon to whatever thickness you want they always have been on Deck and it's always delicious. Their fish is really fresh to as well. If I were you I would definitely shop here for your meats it's amazing and the staff is very helpful and friendly. But you can use your EBT at the Starbucks here. Oh wait that's the Maui Lani Safeway excuse me. Anyway I hope you take your time to enjoy this place it's amazing.

Poke. Heaven. 🤤🤤🤤 Always the first stop once we land in Maui. They have so many different kinds of poke that it is so difficult to pick which one. Really sux that I can't try them all. Getting groceries for our stay is really just second to the goal of getting poke - be a member for sure as member pricing is WAY better for a lot of stuff.

Open 24/7 so i grabbed supplies on the way to Halakeala NP sunrise.

Maddy in the Kahului Safeway Bakery has a great personality and goes out of her way to get me the items I need spur of the moment. She has had a number of things made while I'm there and she's just as nice as she can be. Thank You Maddy!

My absolute favorite grocery store in town! Has the best of everything (i.e.- bakery sweets n treats, sushi, poke, 50% off clearance items in the clearance section ranging from grocery/bakery food items to non food items, local and non-locsl food/products, etc..). Very convenient and the customer service is great. My favorite employee works the graveyard shift and is a woman named Nadine. She is so personable and unbelievably helpful! I enjoy how she is always in a good mood too. I love the food here and I appreciate the hospitality!🤗

Nice clean well stocked store. Lowest price on gas, you may have to wait in line(20 minutes tops). Airport only 5 minutes away. Make this your stop as you get to Maui and last stop as you leave. Do not think you will be disappointed.

It’s always expensive and the produces is always on the verge of going bad.

Clean and spacious. Has the best bathrooms in kahului if you need to go and can't find a toilet. Also has a Starbucks inside If you are into that. Not many organic options but they have some. Great selection and decent prices. Also their gas station ⛽ is the cheapest on island save for Costco. Has ethanol free gas ❤

Definitely worth going to they have everything you might need for a healthy meal healthy lifestyle pretty much any grocery you might need they probably have 100% recommended

It's very neat and clean. Safeway has its own Starbucks inside, so when you need a drink, Starbucks is there. Safeway has your typically drinks,snacks,ect.

Rhoto brand eye drops are the best for eye pain relief. I for one love the product and am very happy for the company. Thanks Safeway for having a few. These are the best. Stay stocked up on them. Love this product. Safeway is pretty cool. Save a lot of money as a member.

Plenty of fresh and healthy choices

Great wine selection and the checkout gal was efficient, fast and friendly. I started out in another line and that checkout gal kept giving me the hairy eyeball until I made it up to the counter. Then she told me that a flashing light meant 15 items or less and to get in another line, like I was stupid or something. The other gal made up for the grumpy one.
