Just discovered this place this morning and bought my bike as soon as I walked in after work. Brent’s passion and knowledge of biking was a huge help in my decision to purchase. The way he made sure that the bike was completely setup specifically for me before I left is something you don’t get anywhere else. He has everything you need and moreover, his shop just has that “ My local bike shop feel” it’s great to have this shop so close to home and centrally located to a lot of my favorite trails. Highly recommended.

Shop has changed hands recently but the new owner also knows what he is doing. Managed to fix my cheap big box store bike with parts + labor for the same price I was finding just the part online without shipping. Good price and quick turnaround

Scott and his son provided awesome, quality service after my son bent the frame on my Trek Marlin 7. They were able to fix the wheel quickly and the cost of the repair was incredibly reasonable. I will 100% be recommending to others.

Brent at Catoctin Mountain Cyclery did an amazing job servicing my mountain bike. He fixed two nagging issues that two other shops weren't able to remedy. Excellent mechanic and overall very knowledgeable about mountain biking in general. Glad to have them in the area!

Friendly and knowledgeable. I took my son's bike in for a tune-up while he is on Spring break. The shop owner pointed out one item (loose rear hub) that needed additional work, but did not try to upsell. He answered frankly when I asked about the wear on other components, but did not pressure me to buy anything. Service prices are very reasonable. Happy to support a local small business.

Wow! I am so impressed with this place. We just dropped my husband’s bike off for a spoke repair and Talked with the owner, I’m so glad this shop has moved in. I’ve been to every bike shop in central Maryland and I really think this is the best. Here’s why:

Repair- they are very capable of handling more advanced repairs compared to other shops in central Maryland. For example- things like suspension, you may not have to mail your fork in and have it out of commission for several weeks while you wait for Fox to fix it. They are capable of repairing older bikes too. The owner showed us some of the classic bikes he was repairing from the 80’s and 90’s which had parts I didn’t even recognize. Also, their prices for repair were very reasonable and they had a lot of new and interesting repair equipment I haven’t seen anywhere else.

Bike inventory- they have a really wide range of bikes from beginner to premium AND they carry more than one brand in each category. So if you want an entry level bike or a more advanced ride you’ll get at least two options. He mentioned when fully stocked they plan to carry at least 5 different brands. That’s rare! They also had kids bikes in stock.

Accessories- I can tell they’ve spent a lot of time researching the best of everything. They carried the top rated brands in all their gear. If you are in the market for something like a new helmet and you spend some time researching reviews, you’ll find this shop likely has the top choices available.

Customer Service- the owner was awesome, he was a really nice guy and extremely knowledgeable. He gave us options at different price points for service so we could decide how much we wanted to spend on the repair. honestly, even if they were half as friendly I would still think this is a fantastic shop.

Top notch owner/mechanic/shop. I had the premium mtb tune. I have been riding for many years and this tune was the best. No issues out of the shop. Shifted flawlessly under load, no adjustments needed. No creaks, just felt solid. Turn around time was unreal. It’s just one gentleman doing everything. I drive 20 minutes further than my closest shop for the overall experience.

Bought a bike from Brent a few months ago. Brent had it all set-up for me the day I picked it up. Besides his vast knowledge of all things bikes, he has a good knowledge of music too. I just like stopping in and talking to the guy. Great community addition!

This place is awesome. Went in for a premium tune up on two bikes with a brake adjustment on a 3rd. They had all the work done in 18 hours and the quality goes unmatched. All the working parts of the bike are removed and cleaned and then the bike is put back together adjusted. The work is all guaranteed so adjustments afterward are available if needed. There is plenty of parking for loading and unloading bikes. There really is no reason to look anywhere else Catoctin Mountain Cyclery is where it’s at!

Stopped in to look at a helmet for my daughter. Not knowing that the store wasn't open for business, I walked in. Brent was nonchalant- apologized for the mess, which was nonexistent in my opinion and began to assist me with my search.
I came back with my wife and daughter in the afternoon and picked up the helmet that she liked. Brent is professional and not a sales person There are not many places you go to nowadays that make you feel comfortable with shopping. Bret made us feel home and connected with us in a personal way. Stumbled across this new shop on the FB groups recently. Brought in 2 bikes- one to be packed for shipping, and one for a brake and headset service. Well, the one bike was successfully delivered today in great shape via ship bikes, and my other bike rode great last week. Thanks Brent, will be back!

My front tire on my cross bike was tubeless and started leaking--we tried several things at home and couldn't get it to hold air. My husband took it to Catoctin Mountain today for a fix--and they fixed it quickly and for free. Now that's great service!

1st time customer and man does Brett know his stuff. I went there for a BB replacement bc of creaking. Not only did he fix the issue he looked at my whole bike and gave me sound advised to make my ride AMAZING once again. Forever a customer
