In 1842 Allah Kuli Khan ordered his 200.000 subjects to build a wall around the Dishan-Kala to defend it against it's main enemies: Turkmen tribes and the emir of Bukhara. Each inhabitant of Khiva worked 12 days a years (for free!), and after only 3 years a 5.5 to 6.0 km long, 8 m tall and 6 m thick adobe brick wall with ten gates was erected. Nowadays all together only 1,5 km and three gates have survived time. Not very exciting, more of an extra for those who have some free time left.
