This was hands down the best food we had in Costa Rica during our 10 day trip, so much so - we went back THREE times. The beef is excellent, but the chicken, with fresh squeezed lime and their home made hot sauce is like an out of body experience - filled with unimaginable delight. Not only was the food and service exceptional at $8k colons for a MASSIVE plate of food, it was some of the least expensive food we had on our trip, save for perhaps pollolandia (also a certified banger). This is very much a “local spot” we never once saw a tourist - but there was a VERY steady flow of locals coming through, who instantly came over introduced themselves and treated us as if we were family. A great family business offering an incredibly friendly and satisfying experience every time.

Again - hands down the best meals we had in Costa Rica - and we went to all of the highly rated spots within a 45 minute drive.

Good food, large portions. The family is very nice and is very dedicated to ensuring you are satisfied.

I had the pork platter. The ribs were excellent. Platter comes with your meat of choice, a green salad, yuca, and a whole Maduro. I can't wait to return as I want to try the chicken platter next!

What a hidden local gem , both owners speaks good English and was very helpful, the food was amazingly good, chicken was tender and juicy, the pork ribs were outstanding, will make my way back there before I leave this trip!

The best food we have had in Costa Rica yet!! Everything was sooooo delicious, all meat was very tender and flavourful. Porportions are generous, the owners are very friendly and humble. The lamb was the best lamb I have ever had ever. You have to try this place and the environment is fun and super clean. Props to the woman who cooked all the food. We will be coming here a couple more times before we leave. We recommend all food!!! Absolutely amazing!!!!

Great food and service! Was able to participate in sugarcane pressing before our meal, and enjoyed some fresh sugarcane juice.

This place is AMAZING. Delicious bbq and very reasonably priced. $30 CND for 2 beers & 2 Huge plates of Beef & chicken with salad yucca and delicious sweet grilled plantains.

Super friendly host, that made a huge effort to translate into English for us.

very good food and not expensive. had a pilsen beer and huge steak with yuca, sweet plantains, and salad for 7200 colones (about 12USD). it is a real locals spot. they had a live band playing traditional music when we got there. also the food is cooked with wood fire!

The food is fantastic. The only disappointment I have is they are open only at the weekend.

Great food. Friendly family ran business. When you drive by, it is an open air dining area with smoke coming from a rustic firewood grill set in edge pasture with a dirt drive. Be adventurous and eat and meet the locals. Doesn’t look like what us American tourists would normally look for. Carna asada from the most tender beef, lamb, pork and chicken! Lamb was my favorite. All served on real plates and flatware. A guaranteed memory will be made!!!!

Had a wonderful meal here! The road between Flamingo and Sardinal was under water, so we drove all the way around to come and get a meal, and it was worth every extra kilometer. It was like going to a Costa Rican friend's place for a bbq!

The food was great - we had the chicken and the beef. The plates were huge, but I couldn't stop eating (the chicken was especially good). The hot sauce was homemade and so full of flavor. This is definitely a spot to put on your list of places to go of you're anywhere near the area.
