Rinconcito Lodge

Came here thinking it would be not that great, but i was shown wrong. We came in and the rooms were clean, tidy, and cozy. The beds are 10/10, there are many activities to do, and the workers were very nice. At the restaurant Noel (one of the servers) was very nice and funny. The food was very delicious and satisfying. We later went on a 2k hike to a waterfall. The hike and the waterfall were both very beautiful. When you come inside and check in, Anthony helps guide you to your room and is very nice. We did the canopy ziplining tour and both of the guides, especially Walter. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone in the area!

Our room was clean and spacious. The hammock was so nice to relax on! Anthony, in guest services, was amazing! Always smiling, genuinely asking about our day, helping us when our tv stopped working (not an issue for me, but a big issue for the person I was with). He was awesome. The other staff was all helpful and friendly.

The location is about an hour from the airport and the road is a bit bumpy, so just drive slow. As for other restaurants, there are multiple options 22 minutes to the west (the bakery in La Fortuna was amazing!) and a few 28 minutes to the east. The restaurant here made amazing dinners for us and the juices were delicious. We did not get breakfast here but everything else was awesome!

The Rinconcito Lodge is located in a beautiful area and make sure to book the room with mountain view to see a beautiful sunset. We had dinner and breakfast at the location and the food was nice, especially the breakfast, which was one of the best we had so far in Costa Rica. You need to try their toast! The service is super friendly, welcoming and all the staff is very engaged. Can only recommend to stay at least a night here and then head for some adventures around it.

This was our favorite place we stayed in Costa Rica. The breakfast was delicious and they had a robust lunch/dinner menu - everything we ate was really tasty. There aren't any other food options around so to have a nice meal right where we were staying was really convenient. We found the prices to be very fair. The staff was so friendly and helpful always. This is a pretty secluded place, which we loved. The roads to get in are not of great quality, but honestly not too bad. With a high clearance vehicle (we had a mini SUV), and driving slowly it wasn't too challenging. It's located right in between the two sections of Rincon de La Vieja. We visited both and would recommend both. Overall a really incredible stay - we look forward to visiting again.

Amazing staff, rooms, and breakfast. The grounds are gorgeous.

I would not recommend driving there in the dark in a small vehicle. The road from Liberia to get to the hotel is in poor shape. On the plus side, N ocelot ran in front of our car and leapt into the bushes. So that was cool.

A very nice natural spot to spend a couple days. Staff were friendly and I liked that they were able to be real and personable and not have to be the invisible, deferent "servants" you often find in places like this.

Booked through Airbnb. Close to national parks. Very remote - ate all of our meals at lodge restaurant. They were delicious. Especially the smoothies. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Bicycle tourist here. Bicycle can go in the room, no problem. The hotel has a restaurant. Up the hill 400m is a tiny “liquor” store that sells limited amounts of booze at a slightly cheaper price, and a very limited amount of packaged snacks.

Was really surprised! No, this is not a cheaper hotel, but based on the price for the night, the food prices are not bad at all. The food is good, the employees are great!

Shower water is super hot. Tap water taste a bit metallic, but we didn’t get sick.

There are quite a few local birds if you are interested in that.

Very good location and a great two night stay. The restaurant is very reasonably priced and does have some vegetarian options. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and the wait staff was great. We went on the horseback ride with Walter, who was a great guide and very knowledgeable (and spoke English). He made us feel very comfortable with the horses and took us to a beautiful secluded swimming hole. The road is very bumpy, so definitely rent a 4x4 jf you weren’t planning on it already. Nice pool and wifi everywhere. Very friendly staff and great experience overall!

If you want to experience nature, good service and beautiful volcanos, make sure you book with them.
Amazing location and excellent service!

Beautiful grounds, clean rooms and friendly staff! We were pleasantly surprised by the hiking trail on the property that leads to a waterfall, it was about 2 miles round trip. Dinner was pretty good but the breakfast was lacking.

Great service, very friendly staff. They arranged a trip for us one day and packed a lunch for us on a day when we wanted to explore. If you're looking for somewhere remote with easy access to both Santa Maria and Pailas Sectors of Rincon de la Vieja park, this is the place for you. Note that it is remote and I would highly recommend a 4WD vehicle to get there because the roads are very rough. There also aren't a lot of restaurants in the vicinity so you'll probably be eating at the hotel restaurant a lot. The restaurant had a good simple mix of Costa Rican and international cuisine.

Beautiful lodge in the forest which is made even more special by the people that work there. The food and wine was delicious and the rooms were clean and spacious. Not a bad comment to make. Would love to come again!

Beyond friendly, welcoming, and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and charming. We had a balcony with a nice view. The pool is very nice with hammocks nearby. The hotel restaurant is open from 0700-2100, which is convenient because there aren’t really any food options around. We enjoyed our stay!

This was a wonderful place to stay! It was absolutely stunning, rooms were charming, modern, and clean and loved the hammocks. The grounds were gorgeous and there was a nice hiking trail on site. The restaurant was attractive and efficient and the food was simple but very delicious and fresh, lots of healthy options. Good place for kids and families or for adults. Very highly recommended!

Great service and spirit of hospitality- we have had an issue with our ac and the manager immediately placed us in a different room- restaurant is good and variable - the people on the ground esp the guide „Walter“ is very competent and we recommend to do the canopy tour with him….you‘ll learn a lot from his experience

Beautiful area, the hotel is surrounding a stunning jungle. We saw a lot of birds (including parrots!). We were greeted by the friendly staff and with a delicious drink!! Since you are in the middle of a jungle, the only food around is the hotels and thankfully they had reasonable prices and the food was outstanding!! Super friendly staff. Our room was very nice and we enjoyed the hammock in the evening. The staff helped with mapping out things to do in the area and gave great directions. Highly recommend this hotel and visiting Rincon Volcano!! Muchas gracias..Pura Vida!

We stay from May 2022. Amazing experience with my kids. Breakfast had plenty of variety to choose from. Having the luxury to order food from the menu at anytime of the day was a plus and they accommodated my needs as vegan it was above our expectations. Thank you for the five star service.

We stayed a week in this beautiful place and everything was perfect! Amazing facilities with great swimming pool, private hiking trail to a waterfall and many other activities. The small house we rented was very comfortable and super clean, the food was delicious and all the staff very kind and professional. Thanks a lot to Rinconcito Lodge for this relaxing stay! Super friendly staff and beautiful lodges. The park even contains its own trail with a nice small waterfall. The place also offers many tours and has a restaurant and a swimming pool. Also a lot of furry friends to pet. Place to go to for a nice quiet get a way in nature.
