We had Jason as our guide. An amazing young man. He was very accommodating to our group and our individual needs. Great eye for finding wild life. A large source of knowledge about all the different vegetation around us. The hike through the river was amazing. Was glad that I had my hiking boots on. I felt I had great support on the river rocks and helped keep me nice and cool in the heat. Great to also meet the owner Jonathan very friendly and runs a great business.

My friend and I absolutely loved this experience! Our guide David was so helpful and kind, and he made us feel safe the whole time. We were able to take things at our own pace and never felt rushed. Also a bonus was that David really understood the assignment when he took photos of us, and we got some great ones to capture the memory. Highly recommend this tour!!!

This was a fantastic tour. I want to give a special shout out to our guide. Jason was an expert at identifying all the surrounding flora and fauna, safety minded and willing to accommodate our trail preferences. He spoke excellent English and he is a great representative for the company. Great job Jason! Your Alaska friends will not forget you!

Great activity !

We loved walking in nature and observing the magnificent waterfall.
Our guides Steven and Maybeline were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They even helped us take photos.
The total duration of the excursion is about 2 hours.
On-site parking and a small grocery store a stone's throw away for a drink and a snack!
I really recommend

This is a fantastic experience. Never done anything like it! The hike is beautiful! The water is so clean and refreshing. Our guide, Steven, was great! He spent time talking with my daughter in Spanish to help her practice. He was very conscientious of our safety. He took plenty of pictures for us. Taught us about indigenous plants. We even saw a family of howler monkeys! I highly recommend this tour.

Francisco, Angel and Ricardo were the BEST guides for tubing and waterfall hike. Francisco saw so many animals we would have never seen. He helped along the hike and took so many photos. Highly recommend this company and tour!

We had an AMAZING hike with Noel. He was so patient and kind and sooo informative!he pointed out many interesting things with the leaves and trees and we followed a family of monkeys through the trees for a little ways. We ended up being the only 2 in the group so we had our own private tour. I recommend 100%. An experience we will not forget. We are in our later 50’s and the hike was very doable for us. Thank you Noel! I have no doubt you are an amazing chef…. But you are a pretty great tour guide too!!

I enjoyed the La Leona Waterfall tour a lot. Due to the rain, the waterfall was tougher to get to but that made it more fun. We were also able to do a cliff jump and small water slide. It was cool to see the environment.

Bradi was a great tour guide for me. It was just him and I with how scheduling worked out so it felt like I got a special private tour. He was telling me about the different trees and pointing out the best way to walk through water so I didn't fall. Highly recommend!

Probably one of the best excursions we’ve ever been on! This is a moderate hike, but so much fun. Our tour guides Steven and Jacob were wonderful.

Francisco was very helpful in the planning and reservation leading up to the trip. Once we arrived Daniel and the two other tour guides were very helpful and made the trip very enjoyable. Definitely the best excursion we had in CR.

What a fantastic trip!! Steven and Elias were great and super friendly!! They were also very knowledgeable and pointed out howler monkeys, bats and numerous trees and fauna. The falls were as they appear in the pictures on the website. The water was so refreshing after the walk through the jungle. Highly recommend this tour!!

So good! The hike itself is extremely picturesque and beautiful, but it is somewhat difficult, slippery, w muddy rocks. You do need to wade through water sometimes with strong currents. However, the guide is amazing, I had Ilias and he helped me a lot! He lent me his hand for balance, and he was making sure I was doing everything safely. And I felt like he was extremely well trained and knowledgeable. He pointed out wildlife and plants and I felt like he did a good job of educating me about local flora. Somehow I got lucky and there were no other people on this tour so it was a private VIP tour for me! He told me other tour companies do not allow for such small group size. So I would definitely recommend this particular tour group for the waterfall hike!

We traveled there in a rental car, not on a tour. We expected a walk and view. Got a full on gorge adventure. A guide is mandatory as one section is impassable without rope assistance. We had Steven who took good care of us. Long walk over rough terrain but the highlight of the trip to Costa Rica

My daughter purchased the tickets in advance. She wanted to take me and my husband to see this beautiful waterfall. It was a truly amazing experience. Our guide Steven was excellent. He gave us a lot of interesting information about the native trees and plants along the way. He was very attentive and made sure we made it through all of the difficult parts of the trail; there were many and he knew how to navigate them. Plus he was super personable. I would highly recommend this experience if you are in this part of Costa Rica.

Elias took me and my girlfriend on a private tour through the jungle and into the volcanic river. He was very accommodating and made the experience fun. We ended up having a great time, a major highlight of our stay in Costa Rica. Elias also doubled as our photographer

We had a great time! We got to have a private tour since no one else booked the tour for our timeslot. And I before we left, they provided us with dry bags to store our water bottles and phones in. We carried our cell phones in water, proof pouches just to be on the safe side. I would highly recommend that you do the same if you consider the tour.

For most of the hike, you’re gonna be in either knee deep water or walking through the banks of the river but be sure to wear proper shoes. We wore water shoes, but I would even consider tennis shoes for better traction and control since you’ll be walking over rocks with sometimes slippery edges.

The water is clear and refreshing. You start breaking a sweat probably more from the humidity than the trek itself but you should have an at least adequate physical activity level to complete the trail in a timely manner.

Once you get to the mouth of the entrance of the waterfall, you’ll notice the currents accelerating. It’s important to always proceed with caution as there are large rocks and sharp edges in some areas you can get hurt on. The sheer power of the waterfall is very strong, and it shows was mother nature is capable of. Once you enter the small canyon that leads into the waterfall, the experience is jaw dropping.

David was excellent at providing us and knowledgeable experience about the flor and fauna of the area. He guided us the whole path and allowed us to take water breaks as needed. We never felt rushed and he always made sure we were safe.

Our hike was very efficient and I appreciate that. Because our group was so small, just me and my husband and our tour guide, we made it back in two hours from start to finish. It freed up time to get to our next destination in time. But keep in mind that we came during the off-season where there’s not a lot of tourists. The same tour can take up to 3 to 4 hours if there are a lot more people on the trails not only from your own tour group, but other tour groups, exploring the same area.

I definitely recommend this tour if you have a few hours to take a hike!
