The food is delicious especially the nachos with a generous amount of toppings and piping hot! Also had a rice bowl full of flavour. What stands out the most is how great the staff look after you — so attentive and good sense of humour and a warm inviting ambiance. Highly recommend

The back patio is very relaxing and cozy, there are a variety of delicious food options both gluten free and not, as well as the waiters are friendly!

Wow, the food and service is top notch! That combined with the relaxing surround of the back patio, only completes the pleasant ambiance.

Came here for breakfast on March 3, 2024, and was going to get everything a' la carte, because I wanted refried beans and sour cream with eggs. Well voila, there was the exact order I was looking for: Huevos Rancheros, complete with everything! Except the coffee which I ordered in the large size. Just right and soooo delicious! The service was excellent and very quick with the food!

The only drawback regarding the place is, some of the tables are rickety, wobbly and some, chunks of stone missing or cracked. I guess it may be an authentic rugged, tough look they're aiming for maybe?

When I first came in that Sunday am, the young lady waitress by the doorway was a bit annoyed and acted as if she had something wedged up her....ahhh, rear.... Very unfortunate, she was this frustrated and angry that morning.

But the waiter (didn't get his name) was friendly and very excellent every step of the way! People like my waiter - along with the excellent food and drinks, keep you coming back for more! Thanks whatever your name was!

The best food I had in Costa Rica! 100% recommend if you're in Montezuma. Delicious comfort food, generous portion, super friendly staff and beautiful garden. I came 3 times during my time here!!

Lovely place with great vegan options. They serve Breakfast and Lunch and in the evening you can enjoy drinks in the back yard area. The staff is friendly and quick. I like the place a lot!

Everything about this place is calm, welcoming, and a nice respite for those looking for vegan cuisine (or other regular cuisine). The menu is full of options and the variety is wild.

Everything was marked up on the menu if GF or could be adapted to be GF - loads of choice! Had the fish of the day with mashed potato and veggies which was delish. Good vibes and nice garden out back!

The ambiance of this place alone is worth stopping for - especially the patio. But the food is another reason to make it a destination. There were four of us, and we all loved our meal. Cosadas are excellent - we had chicken and fish. 😋 Another ordered the Thai style chicken dish and it was tasty with a bite. Greatly enjoyed a well-made gin tonic. Saw a very large iguana - Pepe - in the tree above the patio fountain. He was well-mannered. Wait staff was very friendly with a great sense of humor.

This place is wonderful. It is an interesting hotel, lots of history. We stopped in for breakfast and had a wonderful stack of pancakes with tropical fruit. A side dish of tropical fruit. And the typical Tico rice and beans cheese and scrambled egg breakfast. It was fantastic. We had a wonderful and relaxing time.

The vegan chocolate milkshake is my favorite!! Their homemade coconut milk is so GOOD! Love the atmosphere and one of the cleanest restaurants in town.

The Healthy Banana! My favorite place to eat in Montezuma! I was there for two weeks and ate at Sano Banano many times. The food was of high quality and was absolutely delicious. Get some RAW chocolate sweetened with honey before you leave!

Highly recommend Sano Banano for anyone visiting the area. The food is not only fresh and delicious but the portions and prices are a great value compared to many other restaurants in the region. Great for breakfast or lunch don’t miss out on the Patacones.

SB will live in my heart forever. My family would often come to have coffee and cake or brownie. The staff are personable and have a good sense of humor. It's the palce that you feel welcome and happy. Pura Vida!!!

Sano Banano was our main restaurant in Montezuma for the week. Good food, good service and a lot of vegetarian and vegan dishes!

Super delicious vegan pasta. OMG! This picture doesn't do it justice because I ordered it to go, but WOW IT WAS INCREDIBLE! with avacado, coconut milk base, mushrooms, peppers, and more!🥑 Their chocolate were also super tasty!

We had a really nice vegan lunch here! Yummy jugos naturales and delicious food. The atmosphere was nice and the staff friendly. It got full during lunchtime, before it was pretty deserted.

It was also ALOT, portions are definitely American. We were able to take half of it with us for dinner :)

We ate at Sano Banano twice on our visit to beautiful Montezuma, and had a great experience both times. Food was yummy and the outdoor seating area was lovely, and romantic. Big thumbs up to the excellent staff! Can't wait to visit again!
