Mt. Lawu

One of the hardest tracks in my experience. But the view from the top was worth it.

Plus there was a big yellowish savannahs area which are very beautiful to see.

Must try the legendary pecel near the summits!

10/10 experience overall.

Everything was fun and fun.
I was there with some of my Balinese friends and we were enjoying the hiking so much, feel blessed, and the view alongside the hiking track was heavenly.

Mount Lawu is known as a volcano on the border of Central Java Province and East Java who entered the highest mountain ranks on Java. The location of Mount Lawu entered into the three districts of Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, Ngawi Regency, and Magetan District, East Java.

The height of Mount Lawu is about 3,265 meters above sea level

Mount Lawu has its top retailer Hargo Dalem, Hargo Dumiling, and the highest peak named Hargo Dumilah.

The story of the Mistorial Mount of Lawu Angker most of the santer is heard on the cetho-path of the mountain of Mount Lawu Angker is increased by the presence of the demon market. This news is familiar in the ear of the climbers, an invisible market in this eye is on the path of Cetho temple, slopes of Mount Lawu, a land-covered by weonalan. Speaking of the Cetho Temple Track, actually, this path is the shortest and fast path to the peak of Lawu, because the journey starts from 1,470 mdpl. However, this short path is also the most dangerous path. Because, the splices on this path is very steep, the steep gaps in the outskirts of the track, thick fog often down theise of the visibility to be so short and enlarges the risk of getting lost, and the trust that says this is the grossian's natural crossawate and the demon of the demon market. Therefore, why this path is dangerous and not very favorites. The climbers prefer to choose two other lines, ie Cemoro Candlers and Cemoro Sewu tracks.

I enjoy my trip here, it's good for exercise to strengthen my legs. Just fyi, round trip (tektok) to Lawu Peak via Cemoro Sewu it takes 7 hours for me.

I also tried get Lawu Peak, went up via Cemoro Sewu and get down via Cemoro Kandang, it also take 7 hours (tektok).

This mountain located in Solo. It is not that high but I went there via Cemoro Sewu. Which means it took me so long to reach the summit because the track was a makadam track (stones that set to create a path). It is not so good for our knee. Anyway, the hike up was great. Lots of birds. But in the afternoon, when the mist set down, the weather gets very chilly. Tere are lots of warung selling snacks and drink. There is even lady who sell snacks by bring it with her from pos 1 to pos 3, back and fort sometimes. Extra clothes is recommended because at night, it could be very cold as well. There is this famous warung almost to the summit. You can get rice, drink, hot coffee or tea and noodle. Pecel is must to try.

Hiking in here with my friends and yes Mt. Lawu is really Great mountain with many beautiful views everywhere. Nothing's to regret here,everything is worthy. The entrance price is around 20-30 Rupiah. And also there's alternative ways/other camp

Best track for hiking, especially via candi cetho, there is water source on post 3, the track can takes up to 8-10 hours from basecampe to summit, you can camp on post 3 and then go summit in the morning or you can camp on bulak peperangan. People say dont camp on post 4 due to mystical things. But most important is your physical mentality and preparation. Via candi ceto you can see that candi on the begining of the track, above that the track will go deeper and dark, better start hiking in the morning. Eventho there’s warung mbok yem with best deal price of food and drinks near summit. overall good view on the summit.

I climbed Mt. Lawu via ceto right after it was opened after the forest fire. The route is long. It took 4hr from the basecamp to the Pos 3. It took ~1.5hr from Pos 3 to Pos 4 and another 1.5hr until arriving in Pos 5. It depends on your group pace though. Unfortunately we came there when more than half of the savanna was burnt. It’s very cold at night and the wind was strong, please make sure to wear proper cloth/jacket.

Climbing area in KarangAnyar area, actually Lawu Mountain is bordering areas of Central Java - East Java.

Mt with 3.265 masl high. The track is far with stone paths arranged (Via Cemoro Sewu) but u can see beautiful scenery, Javanese edelweiss flower (only grow in some place) and buy some fruit at several spot. Need 5/7 hours from basecamp until the top. No need to bring ur tend coz u can sleep in the platoon (free) just buy some food/drink.

Mount Lawu, or Gunung Lawu, is a massive compound stratovolcano straddling the border between East Java and Central Java, Indonesia. The north side is deeply eroded and the eastern side contains parasitic crater lakes and parasitic cones. A fumarolic area is located on the south flank at 2,550 m. The only reported activity of Lawu took place in 1885, when rumblings and light volcanic ashfalls were reported

Lawu is no typical tourist trap because the hike takes several hours each way. What you therefore meet is true mountain lovers, often in full gear including tents. You climb over 1 km up and the view is amazing, clouds below you. Entrance is very reasonable, just a few dollars, and they let you in with a friendly smile.

One of the best view mountain that I climbed. The sky and cloud is very beautiful. But think about the weather before you climb it cause usually storm here.

So in love with this mountain! Especially the locals! Really recommend for daylight hike! The track is pretty fine even for the newbie! Would be great scenery without rain 😬 unlike the most of mountain, here we can find so many shops 😆 Worry free! Happy tummies—happy hiking!

We hiked the mountain via cemoro sewu. The trek is cruel because no flat zone, the trek consists of stone-shaped-stairs which is very helpful. But you can just bring tent and 1.5 l of water because there are lot of local store up there with reasonable price. Basecamp - pos 1 1 hr. Pos 1- pos 2 1 hr. Pos 2- pos 3 1 hr. Pos 3- pos 4 1.5 hr. Pos 4 -pos 5 0.5 hr. Pos 5- sindang drajat 10-20 minutes. Sindang drajat- hargo dumilah (summit) 0.5 hr. If you have knee problem I suggest you not to choose this trek instead of cemoro kandang. Also this trek provide several camp fire spot, not like other mountains in indonesia which absolutely ban camp fire due to the increasing of forest fire.

Great strong windy peak. Make sure you bring a proper jacket when you come to Lawu. Great view

Very worth it to hike overall, but the height of the mountain might be very challenging to beginner hikers. The atmosphere is uniquely on its own, the mountain has a high standing amongst javanese hindu spiritually. Visitors also might found several old hindu relics and caves for ritual purposes
