A scintillating waterfall. In winter the pebbles and stones are dead frozen and look like mini snow gloves. The walls are frozen in winter and cameras could get completely wet if you get closer to the waterfall.

The path is really slippery in winter and is recommended to have crampons or cleats.

Absolutely beautiful force of nature! Manged to see this gem on a south coast tour of Iceland so had many stops, this being the first. You can get quite close and feel the mist on your face whilst hearing the force of the falls. There are steps up to the top where there is a further river and a view of the horizon :)

This waterfall is absolutely amazing! The water is rushing very fast! I highly recommend wearing a raincoat as you will get wet from the waterfall but it is beautiful! You can also view it from above and there’s a hiking trail that you can take that is right along the waterfall the entire time. Highly recommend.

As seen in the video, it is important to wear waterproof and very warm clothing, from sky. In addition to this, I have to add that it was one of the most beautiful places I was on this trip, the nature of Iceland is surreal, it surpassed everything I could imagine.

Skógafoss is stunning. Well worth the time. End of Feb we stopped. Lucky with sun peaking out to get a rainbow. The 527 (my count was 567) steps to the view at the top was exhausting but worth it with an easy 10 min walk from the top viewing deck to the Hestavadsfoss falls along the river, it was wet and a little slippery.

15 meters wide and 62 meters long become my love from first view .
Just look at it :o

To go upstairs took me around 10 minutes and there is 527 steps but I was running in the excitement haha .

I haven't been far that time ,but what I have notice made me feel love 💕

Thank you nature to create such a beautiful phenomenon.

Impressive waterfall, if sunny rainbow is regularly seen. If you climb the stairs to the top of the waterfall you can walk by the river for about 6-7 km and see other smaller waterfalls. Hike not too demanding - but it can be muddy if wet.

Huge, thundering, accessible! What a thrill to pull up into the parking lot and see this giant waterfall. You can get as close as you'd like to the bottom of the waterfall, but every step closer gets you even wetter. It is so tremendous to be so close to something this big and powerful. We opted not to do the stairs to the observation area as it was rainy with no visibility. A must see!

Very touristic place, but impressive waterfall! It’s worth to climb on top of it and have a short walk to enjoy surroundings. Overall visit time (with quick lunch at the bistro just next to it):1.5h

100% worth making the drive and stopping here! The views from the base were breathtaking and even better from the top! We were curious how far back up you could go and I think another time when we had more time to explore we would. But definitely definitely definitely stop here!!

The most majestic waterfalls. The awe of this beauty cannot be captured through lens. You have to be there to feel its power. The stairs take you to the top of the waterfall and the view was underwhelming. Drones are not allowed here

Awesome. You can walk right up to it where you can take impressive photos without tourists in shot. You’ll get wet so wear waterproofs.

Nice walk up some steps for a lovely view from the top of the waterfall.

Beautiful massive waterfall you can walk right up to. Washrooms are available, and there is a campsite right beside the parking lot as well. There are also stairs that lead up to an easy trail you can walk alongside with some other falls and quite a nice vista.

Beautiful! You can get up close at the bottom of the falls via a large paved pathway and also climb quite a few stairs to look over the top. The first set of stairs are kind of awkward because of their depth but as you climb up they become more regularly spaced.

There were a bunch of sheep in the field next to the falls, many right along the fence line.

So much of Iceland is such a scenic dream and this location is no exception.

Definitely worth stopping, even if you don't go to the top and just choose to view from the pathway or along the bottom.

You absolutely have to hike past the main waterfall. This was my favorite hike- it was so green and so many impressive waterfalls. We went 4 miles out then turned around. It was stunning, even though it was a cloudy, rainy day. It was very busy at the beginning, but less people the further out we got.

Skógafoss is basically Iceland's epic waterfall superstar! This beast of a waterfall is 25 meters wide and plummets 60 meters down, creating a powerful scene that'll leave you speechless (and maybe a little damp).

. The water crashes down with so much force it creates clouds of spray, making rainbows dance on sunny days.

Maybe if you climb the 427 steps to the top you'll find it!

Skógafoss is definitely worth checking out. Just remember your raincoat – you might get a refreshing shower!

In the Winter time is recommended to bring crampons chains for shoes be more safety.

Climb the stairs and keep going past the first waterfall (and swarms of tourists). The landscape and numerous waterfalls that follow are AMAZING. All within a 4 mile hike. Although you can go farther if you’d like.

Such a massive, powerful and stunning waterfall! They have a big parking lot for the crowds. We got lucky and it was empty on a weekday morning at the waterfall base level. We enjoyed the view then ventured up the massive steps to the viewing platform. It’s worth going all the way up. Once at the platform, the waterfall trail goes on. We hiked the trail there for about a hour and it offers so many stunning views and more small waterfalls along the way! If you are able to do the hike, highly recommend doing the hike after viewing Skogafoss! It was one of our favorite hikes!

A great waterfall! Must visit. There is a path going up and you can see the waterfall from the top of it. I highly recommend doing this. The view is amazing! There are several smaller waterfalls and you can walk along the river.
