The potato storage

By far the best property I stayed in Many years. Friendly family, professional welcome, incredible location and outstanding presentation. I have slept in over 100 places in Iceland and this is by far the best one. Near perfection.

If I can suggest what I think can be improved :

- sound insulation is quite bad. You hear people talking in the other rooms.
- the pillows could be better quality, I found them very basic compared with the overall property.

My dad and I spent a couple nights here because we wanted to go through the trails at the National Park nearby. I wish we would have stayed more nights here. This place was clean, the owners were friendly, the location was perfect, and the scenery was beautiful! 12/10 would recommend!

Awesome spot.
We stayed in the one bed apartment with 2 adults and 2 kids. Second bed was a sofa bed in the main area, this was super comfy and worked well for us.
Kitchenette was as described, had all we needed, and included the basics.
Regina and Kluas couldn't have been more helpful throughout the whole process.
We even saw the northern lights - although that was probably luck!

We loved all the places we stayed in Iceland, but this was our favorite. We were in #5, and the view was amazing. The rooms are updated with lots of little touches like plenty of hooks and places to hang things. Interior is so cozy. Highly recommend!

Great location. I did Glacier adventure hike in the morning- 5 min drive.
Campsite was lovely , good facilities.
I turned up last minute without booking and luckily had a room available.
Tent spots are good. Large kitchen diner to make food and eat.
Receptionist very welcoming. Bedding can be hired. Priced reasonably for 🇮🇸 Iceland

Very comfortable rooms that are well equipped. Great base for exploring the area, the owners were very helpful and welcomed us upon arrival. Would 100% recommend staying here. Great views too!

By far the favorite place that I stayed in on my trip to Iceland with friends! The rooms are very clean and super cozy in design in a way that makes you feel happy to unpack for your time there. The hosts were also very accommodating of our needs to feed in an extra person to one of the rooms.

It's location near Svinafell was also fantastic because you wake up to beautiful views, the air is fresh, and it's nice to sit outside and admire the view while you eat your breakfast.

This was a fantastic experience staying here and we would all happily stay here again if the chance arose.

We loved our 2 night stay here. Great location and friendly, helpful staff. The only place we stayed where someone met us and took us to our room. Super clean and well appointed with everything we needed. Beds were comfy and linens nice. Good hot water in shower. Each unit has it's own parking space. Coffee was great, as was the WiFi. 8 min to Skaftafell National Park.

It is in a lovely spot with a spectacular view. Rooms were very comfortable, immaculately clean and very well appointed. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

You can't find better in Southeast Iceland! Our room was trendy and modern, and the views from the property are absolutely stunning. The owners were there to warmly greet us when we arrived, and were extremely accommodating when we had a change of schedule. Highly, highly recommend!

We stayed 3 nights at potato storage, as a base for our activities in the area. It was a great decision. We had a day of rain so we stayed back in the apartment happily. Regina welcomed us when we arrived. Apartment is clean, compact and stylish, equipped with quality appliances. Bed is sooo comfy(if not mistaken - box spring and good topper) which is very important to relax well after all the activities. The curtain blocks the light well for a restful sleep. Bathroom is pretty with great strong shower. Kitchen has all the good cooking utensils we need - no scratched teflon pans. Microwave, french pressed coffee and a nice size fridge were great help as well. I would highly recommend this place. More than happy with my stay. 🤩

What an amazing place! Klaus welcomed us and show us around the beautifully, and well stocked studio apartment. It was comfortable and had everything that we needed. We were there during a bad wind storm when the roads were closed so we decided to explore a bit and found an unbelievable trail that leads to an overlook of the Svinafell glacier- right on the property! It was amazing. The Potato Storage's proximity to the Svinafell visitor center was amazing and there was a gas station and small store nearby. We stayed for 3 nights and loved every minute. I would definitely recommend this place!

Rooms are like just renovated, they are so stylish. Additionally all that you need in kitchen is included, minus your food of course :) The hosts have good tips on local highlights and are super friendly. The location is behind a few turns but with the signs it was easy to find. Best 2 nights of our stay!

Absolutely loved this hotel. It's tiny for for two people it was perfect. A small kitchen is perfect for a quick meal. The rooms are new and renovated. The hosts were very kind. Would absolutely stay here again

Amazing place to stay! Regína had everything ready for us when we got there. The room was very nice with two twin beds, coffee table with two chairs. Kitchen amenities included coffee, tea, fridge raider, stove top. The shower was nice and hot with good water pressures. Bathroom is clean. The views outside were spectacular.

This apartment kind of felt like home, very cozy and tastefully decorated! I wish we had stayed longer. Regina and Klaus are really nice and welcoming as well!

This place is magical. The wooden cabin is in a remote location, but it is a strategic place to stop for the night if you are visiting Diamond Beach and Jökulsárlón. You can really see how much attention and love was put into building this accommodation, picking the furniture and curating all the details. The hosts are lovely.

There is a petrol station with a small shop selling food and essentials just 3km down the road.

We stayed here back in November of 2019, I should have wrote a review sooner. This was our favorite place we stayed at during our trip!! We stayed here for two nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. We got in pretty late after a long, rainy, foggy drive from Vik and Regina was there to greet us and show us to our apartment. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The kitchen was set up excellent and allowed us to cook our breakfasts and dinners there. The first night we drove about an hour away hunting for northern lights but didn't see any. When we got back to the apartment we decided to walk down the driveway to the darkest area we could find and sure enough we saw them! I cannot recommend this place enough!
