Very clean and modern. The location is amazing. You have a nice track road to the waterfalls next to the camp. And the diamond beach is 45 minutes away.

Campsite in stunning location, you wake up and have views to snowy mountains and glaciers. Hiking routes right by campground. All the facilities are very clean and new. Shower is included in price. Thank you to the campsite staff for knocking on our camper to let us know the northern lights are out. We would have missed it otherwise.

My friends and I stayed here during our visit to the area for an ice cave tour and the canyon. This camping site is a great spot to stay! It is spacious, and the restrooms and shower area are clean. There’s also a laundry room, which my friend and I used to wash our clothes and bed linens.

At night time, you can even watch the northern lights for hours! (When the sky is clear and the weather permits it). I had plenty of pictures and recordings of the Aurora Borealis.

I had a great time camping with my friends here, and you should, too!

P.S. When using this campsite, make sure you check in first at the front office to let them know that you’re here and be courteous to your neighbors! Also, there are hiking trails in the area

Excellent spot to camp here. Best campsite so far for this trip. Plenty of hygienic shower cubicles, WCs separated from shower rooms, washing machine and dryer available as well. No complaints at all. Definitely highly recommended to stay here.

Incredible location - views of glaciers, and close to many walking trails. In the middle of nowhere so possible to see the northern lights too. Facilities are clean and well maintained.

Great campsite.
It is located in an isolated area, and even in winter and with challenging weather, they are still open.
The place is beautiful and surrounded by eye melting views.
It has plenty of clean bathrooms and even a confortable set of showers.

Best campsite of our entire trip!
Friendly staff, super clean washroom facilities and toilets. Clean laundry. Spacious open kitchen counter with faucet but no appliances or utensils (bring your own, it’s a campsite).
Plenty of parking space and electricity hookups!
Will definitely come back!

For our stay in mid-November, everything was open except for a few of the camping fields and the outdoor dishwashing station. The showers were numerous (~10) and free, with floor to ceiling private stalls and lots of hot water. There was a single dishwashing sink in the laundry room, which had one washer and one dryer. The location was very clean and modern. Very much worth the average camping price ($35/two people, one van).

5/5 campsite with gorgeous views! Bathrooms were nice and clean, and the showers were hot! Toooons of parking spaces (easily the biggest campsite we stayed at.)

The campsite itself was a little confusing to navigate at night when we first arrived and could use signs to guide you where to turn in (we didn’t need electric but the non-electric side was closed since it’s a slower season right now). We were able to pay the following morning with our credit card! We stayed 2 nights and would gladly return!

Lacks a kitchen but makes up in location. It has a washing machine and dryer. Restrooms are decently clean. This was the first place where I've seen the Northern lights.

Best camp shower I’ve ever had. We’re talking high flow rate like 4 gallons a minute and as hot as you want. Rain shower style which I love. I guess that’s what you get in a place with so much excess water and hydroelectric power. The wife wasn’t as thrilled as she didn’t want to wash her hair that night.

FOUND A RING ON A NECKLACE HERE IN CASE YOU LOST IT!

Nicest campground I've been to with full facilities all included in price. Took a campervan here. Tons of private showers in unisex room (men's on one side, women's on the other). Washer and dryer are small capacity. Close to Svartifoss and the glacier.

We stayed 3 weeks in Iceland. This is the best camping we had been. Everything is clean, warm. We paid 10000 isk for 2 nights for 2 people. It's a big camping with plenty of toilets and showers with free access. There is a washing machine and a dryer included in the price (you have to wait or do it in the early afternoon when there is nobody). The view on the glacier is breathtaking. You have lost of path for hiking. Recommend 100%

Amazing camp site! Showers are included, there is a washer and dryer (amazing for soaked clothes!), all facilities are heated and impeccable. And staff is very friendly and incredibly helpful!

Best camping site so far we’ve been (and we did a lot!). Looks like brand new facilities. Hot showers and laundry (+dryer) included une the price (2500ISK per adult with a van). A LOT of showers and toilets, very clean. automatic and clean doors. Lot of room to park. Staff is very kind and helpful. Gorgeous view to the glacier. Just the best. We absolutely recommend!!

This campground is well run, very clean, and the staff are extremely helpful. Cost was 3000 ISK and includes interior (hot!) showers, WC, laundry (no extra charge), a washroom (also inside) and camping. Open all year (including December!). Location is amazing and only a short walk to manybtrails, the park visitor center and the various outfitters who provide glacier and ice cave tours. The overpriced "food truck" was shut down for the winter.
Keep in mind - there is not an inside kitchen nor sitting area here and the wind can be strong and cold. There are outside picnic tables. Winter checkin was at the visitor center or at the little welcome hut at the entrance to the campground. Hours many very, but the self service kioks at the parking area might work after hours also for camping (call to check.)
Tip - If staying for the day check in for camping first as parking is included!

In the moment and still looking back at our entire 11 day journey, Skaftafell was within the top places we camped at mostly for location, openness, and homey-ness. Being right next to a hiking trail and having an open glorious view of the mountains and glaciers was so refreshing. We took our first shower here and it was warm and a clean facility. There was a clear view of the night sky. There were washing and laundry facilities but no dining/cooking facilities, but we made use of an open picnic table and it worked!

Great place where to stop by when traveling around Iceland.
Spending some time to explore the area on hikes should be considered a "must" given the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Svartifoss is about a 45 minutes hike from the camping site.

Really enjoyed our one night stay here while passing through. We did not hike any trails but it was worth the stay for the quality of the campground. Many showers and bathrooms accessible for the large amount of campers! Washer and dryer but i wish there was a place that was covered for people to eat. It was raining and people were taking shelter in the building the bathrooms were in.

overall, very good.

Our favorite campsite we stayed at. Stayed here mid Sept. bathrooms were very clean, free showers with no time limits. There was a food truck on site the day we were there.
