From the moment I stepped into Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon, I knew my stay would be something special. The hotel exudes a warm and welcoming ambiance that is both luxurious and comfortable.

The rooms are a highlight, offering a perfect blend of modern amenities and cozy comfort. Waking up to the serene views was a daily delight. The attention to detail in the room’s design and the impeccable cleanliness added to the overall experience.

Service at the Fosshotel is top-notch. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was pleasant. Their recommendations for local attractions and willingness to assist with any request made a significant difference.

The culinary experience at the hotel was exceptional. Each meal was a delightful journey, with a variety of choices that catered to all tastes. The quality of the food, presentation, and service in the dining area were all outstanding.

The spa facilities are a haven of relaxation. The outdoor jacuzzi is particularly noteworthy – it’s like an oasis of tranquility, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Soaking in the warm water while surrounded by the stunning landscape was a truly unique and rejuvenating experience.

Drove in from Reykjavik. Best suited for travellers who wish to avail ice cave tours or glacier related activities in Jokursarlon Glacier lagoon. Very close to the lagoon so you are not constrained for time early morning. Good breakfast for 30 euros. Packed breakfast box available on demand. Hot tub and sauna access reserved for guests for an hour.

Loved our stay!
Got a wake-up call to see the northern lights which was amazing! The sauna and hot tub are free to use at your leisure which really added to the experience. Room was really clean and stunning view from the large window.

Fantastic hotel. Would travel out here just for the hotel. The remote location and it’s proximity to the glacier is wonderful. Sauna and hot tubs are a must. Rooms are cool and chic. Heated bathroom floors. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Staff are very friendly and hospitable in every sense. One of the best hotel stays I have experienced.

Loved the hotel, waitressing staff excellent. Staff on desk could be a bit more more helpful.. chef I want to steal him great food and very attentive with allergies ..very impressed. The room had no kettle and the bathroom door did not close properly ..the bedroom was lovely though as was the bathroom. A great view from the window and a great place to explore glaciers and the lagoon also has its own waterfall. The hot tubs gym and sauna are excellent as well. I would return .

We stayed here for one night in the suite for my birthday and it was fabulous! The hotel was clean and modern, the staff friendly, the food fabulous, lovely cocktails and a spa accessible for all.

The suite was really special with our own private hot tub which is a great touch.

We had dinner at the restaurant and it was our best meal in Iceland. Kristof our waiter was brilliant, attentive and funny. Again, best service we had in Iceland!

It's also a lovely secluded location where if you wanted to stay for a few days you can easily access attractions to the east and west.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at. Close proximity to Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach and the views of the ocean were nice. The ocean is pretty far off the distance and we couldn’t see it due to fog the first day. Grazing sheep outside the windows are fun. We ordered food from the bar both nights and it was good, breakfast upstairs in the morning, and the over easy eggs were amazing. Staff was so friendly and even helped give my husband Tylenol in the middle of the night when he unexpectedly got sick. We made reservations for the hot tub and it was a nice way to relax after a long day. The room was very nice, and had a stand fan for noise and moving air. The bathroom floor was heated, which was cool. We felt very luxurious staying here and I really enjoyed it. There was even a beautiful waterfall at the entrance of the parking lot!

Really expensive, both hotel and the restaurant but if you want to pamper yourself - do it! It includes dry sauna that you can reserve for an hour/day, a hot tub outside, treadmill and another workout machine (not a full gym though), mountain and valley views, great stylish hotel interior, amazing delicious food at the restaurant. Very good, varied breakfast.
Request/advice to staff: please mark which options are vegan, both in the restaurant and in the breakfast.
Other than that - great stay, I loved it.

I don't think you can find a better hotel in the area! The design and decor are impeccable and you're truly in the middle of no where, which made our stay that much more exciting. They also have a sauna and 2 hot tubs which made for a very relaxing evening.

Our dining experience was superb!! Excellent service and food, the chicken was to die for!

Will definitely be back!!

I've stayed in many hotels in Iceland and this is one of the fanciest and most beautiful ones yet. The architecture is absolutely spectacular and the hotel stands out from its surroundings, which are just lush green fields and no other inhabitants. The rooms are also very spacious and tastefully decorated, with everyone having access to outdoor jacuzzis and a spa!

The hot tub & sauna was very good to be included for the price of the hotel. Very clean rooms and also free parking. Only bad things was lady on the desk putting pressure to book into the restaurant on check in then also the lack of decent vegan food in the restaurant anyway. We decided to check the menu before booking in and then ended up driving to a stop down the road

Best breakfast buffet of our trip. Every aspect was a home-run, especially the skyr which with vanilla bean tasted like ice-cream. Dinner was well executed. Loved the modern, efficient yet natural-minded architecture of the hotel. One of the best hotels we stayed in for our trip especially when hiking the glacier. Even though there wasn't any competition in the area - the level of this hotel, including the service and amenities was impressive.

This is our best experience of hotel in Iceland, really. Well deserved stars !
1) the place is very easy to find and to park in, we did not get the view to the ocean but the one we got right in front of the hill allowed us to see northern lights ! (see in pictures)
2) the room is very comfy and soundproof, which was a must-have for us given that the restaurant was above us but we did not hear a thing.
3) you can adjust the temperature because Icelandic hotel rooms tend to be quite overheated
4) the staff and food quality was perfect, I came to praise the chief at breakfast for the cooking of the eggs, for real. The food is really top notch and the prices at the bar are really OK for both Iceland and this level (not even too expensive).
5) hot tubes are available outside and protected by wind panels and roof
6) You can find 2 road stations nearby, one is a coffee shop which closes at 5:30 pm but is worth the break, the other allows you to take fuel and enjoy cheap but good fish soup !
7) it is just a few minutes away from Jokusarlon.

A really good surprise !

Beyond impressed with our hotel experience. The ocean view side gives the best views. Nothing else is around so all you see is scenery. More guest options than other hotels with the gym and spa (communal sauna and hot tubs). The breakfast was so expansive with endless options. Very luxurious!

Just stayed 2 nights at this great hotel. It is well placed for the two fantastic glacier lagoons and loved the ever changing landscape on the drive from Reykjavik. We had a nice room, well appointed even though it was just a standard room. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed both our evening meals in the busy restaurant and breakfasts were also good with plenty of choice. We even managed to see the northern lights on our last night. Highly recommended

A high end experience.

Food - use the dineout app to book your reservations before you arrive to ensure you get the time spot you want. The food was awesome. My husband ordered the dream feast which was a surprise on its contents and he was pleasantly surprised. He had never had monkfish before and it was excellent. The presentation was fantastic!

Bar - nice vibe - great selection of cocktails and mocktails. Bartenders friendliness was ok.

Breakfast has a great selection and is buffet style. We didn’t enjoy it as we had about six minutes before our ride was getting there but what we did enjoy was also great!

The hotel rooms - beds were comfy - soft but comfortable and well appointed rooms.

The hot tub and sauna - they were nice. You had to book a time slot which wasn’t awesome but do able. There was two decent size outside Hot tubs and one inside sauna. We didn’t experience the sauna because it was full with a few people laying down.

There’s a waterfall on the property - I didn’t walk to it but if I had the time I would have loved to.

From here you are quick to glacier adventures and the black diamond beach.

Great hotel. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Happy hour bar service was challenged at times by eager tourists. Great location. Staff were friendly and efficient. All in all - very good.

Great hotel. We only stayed here for a night on our way to the glacier lagoon/diamond beach. If it weren't in the middle of nowhere we would have loved to stay here for our entire trip to island. Rooms were very fancy, loved the floor to ceiling window, the restaurant food was AMAZING, and the beds pretty comfy. If im ever back to iceland I will for sure stay a couple of nights here to enjoy all of the amenities.
