We were very worried that this hotel would be a disaster as the town that it is in looked very down and out. We couldn't have been more relieved as we arrived at dinner time and everything thing else that was open for dinner (2 places) looked horrendous. The room that we had was in the original section of the hotel up a short flight of vertiginous stairs. The room had beautiful old wooden beams in the ceiling and it was really spacious. The highlight was dinner. Actually the best meal we had in our ten days in Iceland. The service was lovely and our waitress was so charming. There is a small plunge pool that is geothermically heated which we used. So relaxing and warm. We could not fault anything about the Hotel Tindasall. Would recommend it in a heartbeat. Also it is the oldest hotel/guesthouse in Iceland. So much history here.

One of the better guesthouses/hotels on our trip. The original hotel is full of antiques. It is very laid back. There is a natural hot tub outside. They provide you with robes. I stayed in the annex which is very modern and clean. Can't wait to come back again. This seems like a neat area.

Great location and really loved the spa they have, was lovely to finish a big day of driving and have a hot spa with a cold beer. The breakfast room is amazing and real highlight, it was like stepping back in time, it is a shame they dont do dinner in the room as i loved it that much. Plenty of parking out front as well.

Very cozy and clean hotel.
It has a warm pool perfect for night baths outside.
The aspect of the entire hotel preserved the old look as it is one of the oldest buildings in iceland.
Also the owner and the staff are very friendly and nice.

The hotel is classic and very lovely. The breakfast was the best breakfast what I saw at this time on Iceland. And specially the breakfast room has a beautiful decoration. There's also free WiFi and the hot pool outside which was very great at the winter.
The stuff is very helpful, friendly and nice.
Thanks you for the great time with the storm. We arrived safely Egilsstaðir.

LOVE this cute little place. We stayed in the more updated annex. The establishment has so much character and history! We spent time in their geothermal bath after a successful evening of chasing the Norther Lights. Be sure to check out the basement/bar/breakfast area.

Amazing! Quaintest hotel in Iceland? One of the 20 oldest wooden buildings in the country, all the parts were brought from Norway and assembled in the 1820s. Staff is friendly, there is a bar & hot tub, and everything is rich with clever details.

Excellent hotel lost in the middle of this village in northern Iceland. Receptionist is cool and so agreable. The rooms are rustic and personalized. King size bed. There is a geothermal bath outside with water at 40 C

Cute old building with new amenities. A great mix of old charm and new comfort. Breakfast was included and wonderful. The personal hot spring was a great way to relax at the end of the day.

Wonderful 1840's building - a flatpack imported from Nowray! Then it was moved, presumably by sailing boat across the fjord to its present position. Our room is splendid - steep staircase from the reception level, with fabulous beams and great interiors, all in keeping with its heritage.
The hotpot is kept at 39degrees, a perfect enclosed space out of the northerly wind, where a pre-dinner beer is brought to you whilst you gently simmer.
