A nice scenic spot close to the town. Easy to reach via a set of stairs.

Hofsa = small and quiet town with amazing views of the basalt rocks and access to the ocean. Very windy and cold in February but worth it!

Visited May 2022. Interesting looking columns forged by nature. You can walk as long as you want along the columns but take caution.

Beautiful stop, do not miss if you are in Hofsos. I hadn't seen any other basalt columns so these were very cool to me! Easy to access and climb on

It is such a peaceful place near a quiet, small town and so nice to be far fr the noise of a city and the bad parts of the world. The large tour groups never go there and you can explore the cliffs and shores without all the loud noises of people.

Pro mě to za zastávku na neplaceném parkovišti u termího bazénu stálo. Cesta dolů k útesům u moře je tvořena dřevěnými schůdky, které nepůsobily příliš pevně, ale vydržely. Hodně zvláštní prostředí..

Für uns viel interessanter als das oft überlaufene Schwimmbad nebenan. Die Säulenbasalt Klippen sind ein echter Höhepunkt von Hofsós. Auch eine Erforschung des steinigen Ufers lohnt sich, besonders beim Sonnenuntergang ergeben sich schöne Motive.

Hofsós is one of the oldest trading ports in northern Iceland dating back to the 16th century.
