The place is famous for geysers. Thousands of people travel to Iceland to see the jumping fountain of hot water from the ground.
The Geysir is one of the most popular attractions in Iceland. It is about two hours of driving from the capital of Iceland Reykjavik.
Just next to the Strokkur is the visitors center with a lot of facilities. Restaurants, shops and parking. I visited this place during the coldest day. It was around -25 The jumping hot water turned into the steam immediately.
It was amazing.
Make sure to wear warm clothes if you are visiting this place during the winter.

Beautiful experience. It's my second time in Iceland and I still enjoy visiting every time. The history behind and the tours are extremely useful.

So amazing!! Probably one of my personal favorites of Iceland. I was really upset to get here while it was getting dark and it was my last day in Iceland. But man theses kinda of areas in Iceland were amazing and this was the most active one and clearly the best! The big blowhole shoots out water into the air every 4-10 mins give or take. Some are smaller and some are massive!! So cool! The whole area and park is amazing too. I was just blown away by it. From the parking lot there is a lot of water flowing and boiling and steam going up. Then there’s the huge blow hole was is a rare experience. The. Right up the hill there is a really light blue little pool and and cool colored one near it that has a really deep hole. Then there are two more really big amazing ones! Make sure to see it all and spend time checking them out cause there’s nothing like it!! Just wish I had more sunlight to see them more and better. Don’t make my mistake and take time really seeing theses cause you will not see anything like this park 🙂

Honestly, I found this cooler than the waterfall Gullfoss as I’ve seen plenty of waterfalls but never before have I seen an erupting Geysir. It erupted every 5-8 minutes when we were there with bigger and smaller eruptions. Quite the experience! Again, lots of tourists and tour buses.

Spectacular geyser & this goes off every 5-6 minutes - very often & you are allowed to get closer than anywhere I have seen.

No tickets required. Parking is free.
You just have to get there & we were imi. A Golden Circle tour out of Reykjavik.

Beautiful geysir..it erupts every 7-12 min, so you can spend some time trying to get pictures/videos or just enjoy. Crowded as the whole Golden circle. Geysir park itself was pretty boring, nothing else spectacular.

Strokkur. One of the big must-do sights in Iceland. It is a popular spot, but still doesn't feel too crowded. Even though it's free to enter and free to park. Came here a bit before lunchtime in October and there were visitors, but now overflowing with tour groups. They did arrive when we left.

This geysir erupts around every 6–10 minutes. Its usual height is 15–20 metres (49–66 ft), although it can sometimes erupt up to 40 metres (130 ft) high. It peaked in the 19th Century, when eruptions were a lot bigger.
We witnessed a bunch of eruptions. The second one was quite impressive, the third and fourth were a lot weaker. But since they erupt so close to each other it's worth to wait for a bunch of them to witness a good one.

There are some walk around the area. To the top of the hill and to some inactive geysirs. One was considerably bigger than Strokkur, but for now inactive. But the hole is still there with the blue and turquoise water visible. The area smells typically of sulfur and steam is visible throughouth the whole area. It feels like you landed on another planet. Well, most of Iceland feels like that. And it's amazing.

There are big and free carparks right across the street. A big restaurant, free toilets and lots of shops. It's a good spot to spend two, three hours. But not a whole day. There's just too much else to see in the area.

What can I say? Everyone needs to experience this!!! Seeing the geyser explode is awesome, the amount of steam created from this. But be on the wrong end, and you'll get wet from the falling water.

Amazing place to visit, we had 45 minutes to explore and take in the views and sights, make sure you wrap up if coming in winter as it was -12 when we were walking around in December, the tour guide was amazing and very helpfull, telling us lots of information about the sights we were seeing, everyone was very polite and helpful the geyzer erupts every 5-10 minutes but unfortunately the main big brother geyzer is currently dormant but could erupt at any time. The smaller brother geyzer is active and is a lovely sight to see, keep at eye out for the signs of the eruption so you can get the perfect shot. There is also a restaurant and shop to get some food and gifts,

The geothermal area as a whole is very cool, but you come here to see Strokkur. Very impressive geyser that erupts pretty frequently. When we there, it was erupting more often than the info board said it would. Once, it even erupted less than 30 seconds after its last eruption!

Great; well of course - whoever is on Iceland will pretty much drive by here. There are not so many places in the world where you can see such active geysers. Easy access, fully equipped visitor center, free parking - accordingly well attended. Eruptions with the most beautiful regularity every maximum 10 minutes.

The whole area was covered in a smog. No idea if that was normal. Coaches were pouring into the attraction and you waited about 10 mins for the 1 geysor now to errupt. I thought it would be bigger . Big circle around the pool which was mostly full, but crowd was moving aĺl the time.cafe and shop and toilets were all good.

What an amazing place! Birthplace of the word 'geyser' last active in 1916, Strokkur is very active and throws a plume of water into the air every 5 mins approx. The area is easy walking, lots of bubbling, smell of sulphur, minerals and a wonder not to miss. Good walking boots recommended as there is a lot of water. There is a path that leads uphill to a magnificent panorama over Strokkur. Large shop, parking, cafe and good toilets.

Excellent trip to Geysir, well worth a visit. The walk is well paved so you can go with most footwear. you can probably spend up to 2 hours there. Several Geysirs there which burst at various different speeds. The most frequent is the ‘stocker’. Free entry and parking. Lots of facilities near the area where you can use toilets, and a Geysir restaurant nearby.

Very cool! Got to see a few good bursts from it! Great to get up close to a bunch of geysers, enough to feel the heat coming off of them. Easy to access and park

What an amazing place to visit. I mean WOW.
It was incredible.
The Geyser did not disappoint and we stayed to watch long after we should have moved on.
We came back the following day on our way up to the waterfall and Gullfoss just because it was so awesome to see.
It's free to get in. The cafe have a lovely chocolate cake, more like a gateau and the Swiss mocha was very tasty.
No need for a coach tour. Just hire a car and go for it. Much cheaper and more relaxed.
