Setberg Campground

As far as camp sites go, it doesn't get much better for a view, (open the pic, its a pano, or at least it was, now its in the main photo folder). This is a nice family run place, the owners are super nice, but leave you alone too. I just had the initial interaction with them. Then nothing else. The toilet was nice and clean too. Thanks for everything, hope to be back!

Great view spacious decent restroom. No showers flexible pay time (stay the night pay in the morning). No card, 1500 isk per person per night or we converted to us dollars no problems.

Small, very calm campground. The view is so much better than the one in town, you can sit in the sun until it sets late at night. It's a private property but we had no issues with the owners.

Absolutely fantastic, one of, if not the best place we camped on our trip, and that says a lot when it comes to iceland. keep in mind that it's cash only here.

Very clean and modern bathrooms. Multiple sinks to wash dishes as well. Close to bakery and gas station. Do note that the shower is OUTSIDE but there are swimming pools (heated) with showers in a complex next door to campsite.

The location is very beautiful, the view also is. Probably one of the nicest spot we slept in. It’s basically in the owner garden, so don’t expect all the accommodations you would find in a classic camping. The owner doesn’t speak English at all, therefore he can seem a little unwelcoming, but try some local words and he will kindly smile at you! I recommend it ☺

Perfekter Blick auf Kirkjufell! Sehr ruhiger Platz mit wenigen Gästen. Ausstattung jedoch spartanisch: Keine Dusche, nur ein WC in altem Häuschen aber sauber, kein Aufenthaltsraum, keine Entsorgungsmöglichkeit für Wohnmobile. Für uns mit Mietwagen und Zelt alles zu verschmerzen und einer der schönsten Plätze in bisher drei Wochen Island. 1000 ISK oder 10 € pro Person, keine Kartenzahlung möglich Euros werden aber auch angenommen

El camping más sencillo que estuve en Islandia pero el que más me gustó porque las vistas del lugar lo pagan todo! Solo aceptan Cash, no hay facilidades como duchas o cocina/comedor, solo un baño. Es el terreno de atrás de una casa, ideal para una noche. Con una vista privilegiada de la montaña Kirkufell y el agua, el atardecer que cae justo frente a tus ojos. Si estas dispuesto a sacrificar comodidades por una vista increible, este es tu lugar!

Vue magnifique sur le coucher de soleil et la baie juste en face, peu fréquenté, la route passe juste devant mais ne dérange absolument pas vu le peu de passage, les sanitaires sont fonctionnels bien qu'il y ait le minimum nécessaire

Seul dans ce superbe endroit. Pas d'électricité pas de douche. Mais seul enfin seul. Superbe vue.

The most wonderful view. 1,500 isk/person. Almost non-existent facilities (one toilet, one cold water sink, candlelight and that's it) but worth it for the view.

The camp was closed but there was a house where we can park, use a small kitchen and a bathroom just talk to the owner. It's 1500kr./person.

We were the only ones on the campsite! The view is amazing and if the wind is blowing from the east you are shielded to a certain degree. No shower available and only 1 toilet and the water for doing dishes is very cold. Would have been a 5 star if they charged less than 1500 ISK per person.

Fantastic view of Kirkjufell. Great for a quick stopover for a night's sleep.
Campground was empty when I was there. Arrived late, around 11 pm, and just drove into the ground behind the house then paid next morning.
Toilet in the field wasn't the cleanest and didn't have a light. Had sinks and washing up liquid though which was nice.

Incredible view of kirkjufell from the camp site. The facilities are modest like most camping spots in iceland, just a single toilet, and a basin for washing dishes. Note that the campsite is cash only - this is so far the only place I've visited in iceland that didn't accept cards. Cost is cheap at 1000 krona per person per night.
