What a nice place to stay. You could tell they wanted to make the place homey and it was great having a kitchen where we could cook a meal. Only tough part was we were on the third floor with steep steps. Since I’m in my late 60’s that was a bit of a challenge.

They had a nice dining room with a couch where my son and I hung out for a couple of hours after driving all day.

Our room even had a television which is rare in most places we’ve found and they even had a couple of English speaking stations. We didn’t watch TV but it was nice to have the option.

We shared a bathroom with several other rooms but it was no problem at all as there were 3 bathrooms available for guests on the second and third floors.

Breakfast was at the hotel a few blocks away and was very nice. The people running the guesthouse and restaurant were very nice and helpful.

Sadly there were guests who left a mess (which my son and I cleaned up (and someone had broken one of the toilets) but I reported and they came immediately to close off that bathroom to prevent any further damage. I was glad too because seeing the mess the next morning I have no doubt the guests who left the messes in the kitchen/dining area would have left a horrible mess in a broken toilet without a thought. It’s sad when you see such inconsiderate people.

We cleaned the dishes and dried and put them all away and I separated the trash and recycles for the guesthouse cleaners to helpfully save them added chores.

I would highly recommend this location because even though the beds were not as comfortable as many we’ve slept in we slept beautifully I think due to location and hospitality of the people who welcomed us we had the best sleep we’ve had while in Iceland.

Looking for a nice clean place to sleep with great breakfast? This is the place!

The village is a very small and quiet fishing village. We were 1 night in the hotel. More precisely, we were in the guest house. This is down the road a little. We had a room there on the first floor. Unfortunately, the rooms are very bright, so from the room you could hear everything that takes place in the hallway / stairwell. But that did not bother us much, because at night it was quiet. I think there were hardly any other guests there.

Unfortunately, we had to push the betters together. This is something we noticed more often. We booked double rooms through the agency, but we did not always find a double bed, but 2 single beds. But this is not a problem and an effort of 2min.

The breakfast is in the main house, accessible on foot or by car. The breakfast is extensive and is quite sufficient.

Room, kitchen and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Breakfast at Hotel Tindastoll was great!
The building wasn't very soundproof, which made me wake up very early. Apart from that the stay was great!

Our room was very small and had no washbasin. Great kitchen, also has a nice dining and socialising place for a group (that is if you're part of the group and don't want to sleep early ;) )

Nice guest house in Sauðarkrökur, operated by Hotel Tindastoll down the road. Located in the center of town with immediate access to the Hard Wok Cafe and the bakery across from it. Clean rooms with (in our case) separate single beds. As is usual with guest houses, the bathrooms are on the hallway, but there are several of them, so there's no long waiting to be expected.

The guesthouse looks quiet old from the outside, but the inside is a lot nicer than you might think. It is of course not very new but the staff keeps everything very clean, so it is still in good condition. The breakfast was good, but nothing special.
