Our family really enjoys this coffee shop. Kaffi Emil can be a quick stop, but it may be worthwhile to stay a little while. It is also home to a museum, the local library, and tourist information. There are also musical instruments (guitar and ukulele) that can be played by guests. The museum has a children’s area where old toys can be seen and an area for playing with some of the old toys. Be sure to stop here if you come to Grundarfjörður.

Super awesome coffee/library/museum!
The place is calm and fascinating. The exhibits (children toy, fisherman tools, photograph) are very well displayed.
The waitress is very kind and the food is delicious.

Perfect place to stop by when touring the area. It's very cozy. Has a library, bathrooms, free WiFi, and a little museum. There's a nice little cafe that serves the most delicious fish soup (we had the codfish soup). Being that fishing is their trade, this is a must try! I've never tasted fish this good. The fish soup comes with a roll and butter with your choice of either coffee or tea.

Before visiting Kirkjufellfoss we did a stop in Emil Cafe because we read nice reviews of their soup. And I can say they are worth to try. We asked fish and asparagus soups and both were delicious. The attention was so nice. A cup of coffee or tea is included with the soup. Do not doubt to visit.

Good service, cosy and quaint atmosphere with interesting decorations. They had options for our vegan friend and some delicious hot chocolate. Would definitely recommend it to others!

Wonderful place to take a break from the road, grab a good cup of coffee, slice of pie, and see a small room of artifacts and old cameras from the village. Also a small library with reading chairs, perfect if you're staying nearby.

Lovely café: the library in the café is a great idea and the kids area too. Perfect for a morning breakfast with an espresso and chocolate cake. The staff is extra friendly, I'll come back for sure!

Beautiful cafe with a lot of history (they have old tools, boat and cannon). The desserts are lip smacking and the hot chocolate melts into your heart. The icing on the cake is the woman standing in the counter ( very welcoming), she gave ideas about places that we could visit! Overall a great experience!

Absolutely lovely! Very friendly and helpful service and delicious fresh coffee. They do one hot breakfast dish which is a medley of omelette, fabulous crusty fresh bread and cheese and a little pancake & fruit and it was all so good and so fresh. Free wifi also a plus :)

My boyfriend and I came here for a small bite to eat after sightseeing in Kirkjufell and I'm very happy we did. From the photos, I believe this small, quaint cafe has a rotating menu of soups. We had the mushroom soup and a slice of chocolate almond cake that were both delicious! We've been in Iceland for almost 2 weeks and this was the best soup we have had so far! A big thank you to the sweet owners for having us.

Nice little cafe in the info center with a little museum. Cappuccino was good and my wife liked her tea. Nice antique furniture and they had a guitar and ukulele to play.

Great coffee and had some free exhibits to look at while sipping my coffee. They have a fender guitar that says playme. I did and it was nice to pick a few tunes since I am having withdrawals.

You have a coffee shop, a library and a little museum in the same place... The food was delicious but we really enjoyed the people... The owner was so nice and we learned a little bit more about this area
