Absolutely unique

Basic facilities, but beautiful location

Campen direkt am Strand mit super schöner Aussicht!

The infrastructure is showed in the attached photo (a sink with mirror, 3 wc, garbage trash and a tap for water, 1plug). Only cold water and they also have a clothesline.
The staff is super nice and kind.

Eine Wiese direkt neben einer seeschwalben kolonie, sehr abenteuerlich.
Man kann nur mit Bargeld bezahlen, es werden aber auch euro akzeptiert, also bitte Kleingeld mitnehmen. Preis 8 € pro Person und Nacht

Reviewing camping places for bicycle travellers or backpackers.

A big piece of grass, a toilet and cold water. Nothing wrong with a minimalist campsite or "primitv teltsplads" but this should be like 500 ISK max. Just continue and wild camp which gives you basically the same. Or 5 km west acc. to a sign there is a camping place to the right side.

Was there on: 08.2023

Price: 1000 ISK (1 p.). Only accepting cash! After 450 km and 6 days the first place not accepting card. Can ask in the hotel next to it for getting cash. Camping place is lucky that the hotel does that.

Tent area: Big piece of grass for everything. Keep distance to the caravans, had a big group next to me that partied late into night. Look out to avoid areas with angry birds.

Late arrival possible: Yes.

Showers: None. They could at least have a sink behind a door so one could do a "cat wash" there. Would be funny to do that naked outside and see their reaction.

Sink for hand washing clothes: No. Can use sinks for dishes but no plug so need to bring your own foldable sink or plug.

Wifi: No.

Other: No sitting places. Toilet building has a small roof outside if you really need a roof to sit under.

Ne pas aller à ce camping au mois de juin-juillet, car il y a pleins d'oiseaux qui jacassent sans arrêt (même la nuit)... le site peut être beau à l'extérieur de cette période.

Camping ouvert au mois de juin, alors que c'est la pleine période de nidification des sternes arctiques... On les dérange !! Je vous conseille de ne pas y aller en juin / juillet pour ne pas déranger ces espèces. La période de nidification dire 3 semaines. La zone de campement est en pleine zone de nidification.
