Kirkjufellsfoss Parking Lot

Reviews must have never visited parks or private viewpoints before. Great parking, kiosk works, equals 700isk or $5 for a nice waterfall view. Beware the idiots (or maybe it's you ) that decide to hop fences to walk along the protected land for their own personal photo shoots. It's private so the money towards upkeep of the parking lot and walking trail that people forget costs money. Need a bathroom? There's a town <5 mins from the lot.

Super beautiful spot. Great waterfall and mountain backdrop. Reminded us of the most beautiful spots on the Faroer Islands. Of course it has been photographed a thousand times. But does this make it any less breathtaking? Really love the time we spent in the rain to take some great pictures.

We visited on 4 June 2018. The lot holds about 15 cars. People tend not to stay here long (this isn't a trailhead, merely a tourist site/photo-op) so the small parking lot wasn't a huge problem - we merely waited about a minute and then someone left so we could park. Definitely worth a visit to see Kirkjufell and Kirkjufellsfoss.

8-26-19, A must see if in Iceland. Weather was overcast with light rain (50 deg) but well worth the visit. A new parking lot is being built and falls are only 100 yards from lot.

A well-kept parking lot that gives you easy access to Krikjufellsfoss. Cost is 700kr and helps the private owners keep it open to the public. Despite what other posts say, you have 5 min to change your mind and leave the lot without paying.

Great view of the Kirkju mountain and falls. Easy to get to, parking lot close by, beautiful views.

Only two others were here while we were. Eventually had the place to ourselves for some excellent pictures, peace and quiet

This parking lot is everything you expect it to be. The asphalt, the road markings and best of all: the grass surrounding it.

All jokes aside, I am interested in seeing what will become of the area, as the owner of the lot is building a visitor center I believe.

Kirkjufell is one of the lovely landmarks in the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Its name means the church mountain, because it's shape is reminding a roof of a church. Irecommend to stop by and take a little walk if the weather allows it. It could get quite windy over there.

Insanely fun hike AND ALSO INSANELY DANGEROUS. Please don't do it if you're unsteady or don't have good shoes.

Aunque llegamos ya de noche..la luna llena iluminaba el lugar añadiendo magestuosidad al lugar.. imprescindible en la ruta ...y en el pueblo cercano paramos a cenar y probar el famoso 🦈 fermentado...mi paladar no estaba de acuerdo con mi olfato...todo lo demás riquísimo...
