Such an amazing, once in a lifetime experience. We visited last fall and took the 6 day route with Altezza and couldn't have asked for a better experience. It was a fairly mild to moderate hike up until the summit night, that was definitely the hardest. Some of our group got altitude sickness, but were taken good care of and we all made it to the top and back. Would definitely recommend!!

Once in a life time experience. Better to choose 7-8 days of trek to get adapted to the climate and altitude. Best time to visit is in July-August. Make sure you physically fit mentally strong to complete summit successfully.

Beautiful mountain that is just very hard to climb. Ask before you try. If you succeed, it is a lifetime experience.

I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, being the tallest mountain in Africa located in Tanzania, with its highest peak at 5,895Meters (19,340 feet). I am at Uhuru Peak (highest peak) and very proud of myself for having achieved this milestone.

The climb was gentle the first few days and once we got to Kibo Hut at 4,720M above sea level, I felt a bit queasy, the air was thinner, breathing was a bit more difficult but manageable. I experienced some altitude sickness, though we had also taken some time to adjust to the elevation. I never imagined sleeping at such an altitude either!

We were a great team, with experienced guides, cook, porters and fellow hikers.
Our vitals were taken at each elevation, which is good to monitor how your body is doing as you assess yourself on a scale of 1-10 on how you feel.

On descending and looking back, I feel like it was just a dream... Wow, did I do that!.. And now I have just woken up and preparing for my next hike..
I received a certificate too!

Well, this achievement and experience also demonstrates my own goals that I can attain outside the corporate world. Take some time off, prepare and do it!

The top of the African Continent, the volcano of Kibo, the largest of Mt Kilimanjaro's triple volcano. You can see Uhuru Peak which is located on the hill behind the volcanic crater you see in the image...♥♥♥

A once in a lifetime experience to climb the Kili. Was really worth it with a great group of guides. Loved everyday of it.

As other people mention that give a bad review. I will tell some things about the Kilimanjaro.

- NO, there is no WiFi…
- YES, it is rocky and steep at some places.
- YES, it can get really cold on the summit.
- YES, there are toilets and NO they aren’t the cleanest. But what can one expect on a huge mountain at that altitudes.
- YES, it can rain or snow and get windy.

And finally, YES it is beautiful to climb the Kilimanjaro!

Best experience ever. I have never pushed myself physical and mental as such. Throughout the experience, I had an opportunity to learn a lot about myself and got time to think about life deeply.

I did a 7 day journey through Lemosho route with Bless Africa Company (one of the best company with absolutely great team), 5 days up and 2 down. I might do it again after few years but I loved all of it. And even got a certificate ✨. I highly recommend climbing this mountain :)

Our group of 11 ALL SUMMITED with Climb Kili! Herment, Emanuel, Raymond, Goodluck, Dismas and all the porters and mountain crew were great! We started the same day with another company of 8 and only 2 of which were at the summit with us. From my pre-hike questions that were expertly fielded by Tiffany in the Utah office to our successful Mt Kilimanjaro summit via the 7-day Machame route, I can’t say enough about my first class experience with the ClimbKili team. The professionalism and care of our highly experienced guides and their support team shone throughout the trek. They set up our hiking party for success each day as we progressed through various ecosystems and increases in elevation. They were present without hovering, extremely happy in their craft, mindful of our challenge, and respectful of the varying degrees of hiking experience within our party. The team taught me some basic Swahili during the week, educated us about their Chagga heritage, and at every turn elevated a “trek” into a “life experience.” Bravo!

We were a group of 12 Canadians that summitted Kilimanjaro on Oct 9, 2022. Peak Planet was our chosen outfitter. They excelled at facilitating our expedition. An all-around 5-star effort. We would recommend Peak Planet (PP).

See below for information about our experience.

Covid caused us to postpone our trip once. PP made it simple for us to rebook. There was a very small rebooking fee. We provided new dates with no issue.

We selected the custom 10-day Summit package which included hotel stays, airport transfers, and a fully provisioned and staffed expedition to accommodate 8 days of trekking the Lemosho route for 12 people. PP provided 4-season expedition gear including tents, sleeping pads, dining tents, and bathroom facilities to support 12 trekkers and all the necessary support staff. PP also has trekking gear rentals available (cold-weather sleeping bags, trekking poles, and outerwear gear perfect for the higher-altitude cold weather). The details of these are available on the PP website.

Airport pickup and dropoff provisions were flawless with pre-organized on-arrival and departure transportation and accommodations bookings.

Tents were durable and well-designed to meet the day-to-day demands necessary for a multiday trek on Mount Kilimanjaro. The tents were well-sized to accommodate two trekkers with two entrances, each with its own vestibule. They were cozy inside and accommodated duffle bags, day packs, and sleeping pads for each trekker. Rental sleeping bags were mummy-style. One size fits all. They were warm and well-suited for the mountain. The opening and closing of tent zippers were a little finicky. They would occasionally jam and need to be worked to unjam, a minor inconvenience when it did happen.

The on-mountain PP had 44 members, including 6 guides, 34 porters, and 4 kitchen staff to support our efforts. All under the masterful leadership of our chief guide Caspar. It was clear that the PP team was a close-knit group that worked well together and knew what they were doing. From transport of our gear, and camp setup, to facilitating all meals, daily health checks, daily debriefs, and food preparation - PP excelled. The daily schedule proceeded like clockwork and on time. Caspar and the guide team provided timely updates and therefore there were no surprises.

The dining tent served as a meeting place for debriefing sessions, health checks, all meals, and after-meal socializing. We did find space a little tight for 12 diners. Refreshments were readily available and included hot and cold water. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and Milo mixes were available. Jams, honey, and Nutella spreads were also on the table. A guide always joined us for meals. Food was freshly prepared, meals were flavorful and plentiful. Vegetarian options were available for every meal. The dining tent was heated which made it very comfortable for our group to socialize and serve as a meeting place.

Summit night was our most difficult time on Kilimanjaro. We left camp at 11:30 pm we proceeded up (about 8 hours worth of trekking) in the cold frigid air under the light of a full moon. We got additional guiding support from 6 selected porters (a 2 to 1 ratio of guide to trekker). The support team's enthusiasm was instrumental and provided additional incentive for our group to succeed. They were truly inspirational and helped us up to and down from the summit, and into camp safely.

Our group appreciated many kindnesses from the PP team while trekking. Some examples - encouragement, and support while on the trail, sharing information about Tanzania, and the mountain while trekking, additional summit night support, porter assistance for the last few km's into camp on more difficult trekking days, encouragement and positivity arriving into camp. Our cook baked a delicious cake following our summit. These were very special and enhance our memories of our accomplishments.

A trip of a lifetime that will not soon be forgotten.

Climbed Kilimanjaro in October 2005. 6 days trek on the Western Breach Route (now closed I heard). The highlight was night 5 next to the main crater along Furtwangler Glacier at 5100m. I was alone with the guides to enjoy sunset on top. In the morning was only a 30min last walk to the summit before the crowds arrived. Stunning experience.
