Machame Camp

The camp is quite good! There are available toilets and the place is full of trees which act as great wind breakers.
It is the first camp on the machame route and the camp is not as cold as the rest of the camps along the route.
It is definitely a recommendable place to camp.

Easy shaded short hike up to the first camp. Ground wasn't too bad in most areas. View is so so once at camp but too overwhelmed with excitement to care. First day of seeing white neck ravens scavenging for scraps.

The first camp site you'll reach via the machame route. You will hike through a dense, lush and beautiful rainforest to get here. It's a moderate hike. Just make sure you're drinking enough water. Enjoy!

First camp on the Machame route. The hike from the gate goes through the beautiful rain forest from Machame gate. The altitude of the camp is 3835m.
You'll see the peak when it isn't cloudy. Usually in the morning and during the evening.

The weather is cool, no sound pollution rather than voice of difference singing beds , as the part of nature .

Karibu Tanzania

First overnight stop on the Machame route.
Despite a 11km walk to get here, splendid views of the peak, Mt Meru and the valley across are a major highlight.

The trail to the camp through the rainforest is very well maintained.

Pro: No bamboo trees in this part of the rainforest, which makes the hike easier.

Really It's just a area of land with flat spots on it so you can put your tents down with Indian style bathrooms, but because it's on Kilimanjaro, it's epic

Six / Seven Days Nice!!

Ca. 11 Kilometer und gute 1.300 Höhenmeter müssen vom Start am Machame Gate zurückgelegt werden, um das Machame Camp zu erreichen. Je nach Andrang kann das Camp von der Aufteilung her etwas undurchsichtig wirken. Hier befindet man sich in den letzten Zügen des Regenwaldes, so dass die Vegetation hier noch etwas stärker vorhanden ist.
