Once in a lifetime experience. From low to moderate walking n stairs climbing. For those that never exercise or have mobility issue, this might be a struggle. The view is amazing inside and outside the cave. Inside cave was trully glitters when u shine with your lights. The cave temperature is very low 0 or <0 degree so you need to bundle more. Walking up to the cave from the cable car station is quite tiring if you come after 10am as it is very hot.

Go early for parking in front of the ticket centre and also for small group tours. Road is steep going up. Be ready for 20 min × 2 walk uphill with a cable car ride in between. Hard for asthmatics but I made it. The guides are fantastic so worth to give them a tip. Normally can't take photos but we were allowed due to small group sizes. Take a warm jacket and gloves. For keen hikers, there is a walking track.

From the brochure it said that you had to walk 20 minutes from lift station to the cave, what it did not say, or I did not read, that first you had a 20 minutes walk going up the hill from the ticket office to the lift, and then another 20-25 minutes up to the cave entrance.

Both walks were exhausting as they were steep hill. When we arrived to the cave entrance, we learned that we had to climb additionally about 700 steps/stairs.

The tour access only a kilometer of ice formations, however the cave has more than 42 kilometers in length, which is only allowed by special permit and accompanying guide.

Definitely worth the trip if you're interested in caves. This is the largest ice cave in the world. You only go into the first kilometer, but there are over 40 km of caves all up. Amazing! The ice formations are absolutely incredible! And the views of the Alps on the way up/down... stunning.

Be prepared for walking and a lot of stairs. Get tickets in advance online for a slight discount and ensure that you can get in during the 30 minute interval of your choice. (Oh, and bring a jacket. Massive amounts of ice in the cave means it's around 0 degrees C year-round.)

Stunning ice caves and views from the mountains. Max our guide was outstanding. Caring and friendly and happy to answer every question and kept our party safe and looked after more elderly members. Highly recommend

Couple of steep climbs towards the cave and many stair steps in the cave. But worth the effort. Unique experience, including the use of oil lamps, which add to the overall atmosphere. English tour guide as well.

A must see! The hike up the mountain is definitely worth it. But take some warm clothes with you because the temperature in the cave is around 0 C degrees.

Amazing experience! This is world largest cave in the world and a must visit place. This is most memorable experience in my Austria experience, worth to spend time. You can’t take photographs inside the cave, never mind, that’s still fine. You can buy the cave inside picture from shops. Cable car isn’t expense and you need to walk around a hour to reach cave entrance and then again you need to walk a hour inside cave. Recommending the place for people with good health.
