Restaurant Gschwendtners – Herzhafte Küche

We had just checked in to our hotel after a long day of travel and were given the details of this restaurant to have dinner. Gave them a quick call and were welcomed by one of the members of staff who suggested we arrive asap. So we jumped back in the car and made our way here. SO happy we did and would go back.

The menu has many options. Definitely fewer for vegetarians but we were more than happy to choose the spinach dumplings. Always a winner in this part of Europe and these didn’t disappoint.

The staff were extremely friendly with everyone. I’m not surprised this had very good reviews and I’m thankful to our hotel (Der Burgblick) for recommending.

A true gem in the Salzburg region. The dishes are (mostly) Austrian classics perfectly executed and sometimes with a modern twist. Expect freshly prepared and tasty vegetables, juicy chicken schnitzel, fork-tender Tafelspitz, and good wine options. Furthermore the service is impeccable and as friendly as you can get, and dishes are served efficiently. We devoured our dishes and will gladly come again & again.

It’s a very nice accident to stop for diner here. Food was amazing. Service is fun, I hope I will come back

Amazing home-cooked local meals! I craved for a soup and something cooked, as we were traveling from Holland to Croatia. I am so happy we did this stop! Service is kind with a smile, there is a dog station with water for dogs and dogs are welcome (as in most of Austria everywhere). They have a lunch menu, so if you choose to eat something from this offer you can have an amazing lunch for under 15€. All in all, an excellent choice, you won’t regret it!

We have stopped here for a late lunch on our way to Slovenia and are so glad we did! We had soup, schnietzel and apple strudel and everything was perfect. Service was also very quick, kind and attentive and our dog also got a water bowl right away.

Well deserved 5 stars! Hearty and professional service, delicious dishes. I can recommend the tomato foam soup. I've never tasted such a delicious soup. The main courses we picked were delicious, too!

Amazing! Service was excellent, prices were great, food was incredible. Honestly, the Filet Tower may have been the best meal I've ever eaten. Will probably come back tomorrow.

Excellent fusion cuisine. Good service for a large party with short notice. Pleasant staff. Excellent soups salads and main courses. I wish I had room left for dessert.

Pretty new restaurant with friendly staff, pretty good food, which depeneds on the season I guess and I think the ingredients are also regional/local. Looking forward visiting them again!
