Burgschenke Hohenwerfen

The goulash was fantastic- big chunks of meat in a rich peppery soup. My kids would tell you to pass on the chicken nuggets, they were pretty dry. My wife had the Burg Gröstl mit Spiegelei (hash brown potatoes with bacon and egg) and it was very flavourful. Could have used a second egg though. And you get to eat at a real medieval castle. How cool is that?

Had a really funny and interesting teamdinner with fun games , friendly staff , new toilets . Picture of bauernkrapfen with cranberries which was delicious .

Super beautiful inside and out. The highlight was the bird show, it was jaw dropping to see all the big alpine birds flying above us.

This is a fantastic spot to visit with your family. The castle is ancient in full of stories and it is a wonder to take a stroll through its many corridors and rooms.

The on site restaurant is a fine selection of different meals available for children and adults as well.

Highly recommended for a fun day in the Sun with your kids.

The Burgschenke is a really nice restaurant: pricing is acceptable, the food is good (my sister ate the "Omelett mit Waldbeeren", which she can really recommend), and the waitresses are laudable. They are only two for a huge room, but they manage everything efficiently and even find time to chat with the customers. Thanks for the nice service!

Very good food, very friendly staff though I was feeling a bit sorry for the nice waitress who had to run (really run!) between tables as she had to deal with the entire room alone. Still very friendly. Good place to eat, prices ok.
