Top restaurant in a location where you would not expect it. An excellent atmosphere with great hospitality. The menu is perfect and the kitchen pays attention to the dishes. An extensive wine list makes it complete. If you want to avoid the hustle of Hallstad and want value for money, you should definitely eat here.

Booked well in advance and asked for a sample menu.
I was pleased to be told that the menu changed daily.
So was looking forward to the menu on arrival.
Great setting close to the river.
A lovely warm welcome from the staff on arrival followed by excellent service.
The food was as expected. Well presented, exceptionally tasty and left us wanting more.
We were to full for desert but the ones that were coming out of the pass were looking good.

If you are driving to Hallstatt from the south this is a must stop before dropping down to the lakeside village. The chef is incredible and plenty of parking.

Great restaurant at an amazing location. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated with spacious room between tables. The staff was very friendly and the food was very tasteful, while being relatively inexpensive. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff, and good ambience inside. Outside is quite nice as well with good views, but can get cold (and some bees around). It's a great stop when doing the bike ride trail in the area. As a middle stop helped us go further 😃

Food is slightly on the expensive side (the only downside I saw), but the soups we had hit the spot on the cool autumn day. The presentation was great also.
Also the cappuccinos were really well made, right level of creaminess.

They also have a bathroom inside, and across the road there is also a public toilet.

Little restaurant out of the way. Service was great and the food was outstanding. I had the deer shoulder. Being a deer hunter I appreciate how hard it is to cook it but they cooked and prepared the venison perfect.

Great food. We had the pancake with ice cream, pumpkin soup and tomato soup. Very delicious and hit the spot. Cappuccino wasn't too bad either.

This was a great find away from the touristy overpriced Hallstatt restaurants. It was suggested to us by our hotel receptionist. It had to go back and thank him the next day! Drinks are not cheap here, or anywhere in Austria. The food is priced well, but when you get this level of quality for your money, you pay with a smile. The food here is fantastic! We had a fish dish ($25) that came with the best asparagus risotto I’ve ever tasted, even in Italy. We also got a traditional beef dish with mashed potatoes that was fantastic and a schnitzel with cranberry sauce that was very well made. Desserts were not the highlight, in my opinion. Definitely the place to go when in Hallstatt.

Unexpected to find such delicious food in such a remote location. Incredible cuisine, fabulous service. A true hidden gem!
