Gasthof Gosausee

We had a very comfortabel stay at this authentic and cosy hotel at a beautiful location. We had a room with a view on the lake. The food and wine was also very tasteful. But above that the staff is very attentive, friendly and positive. Thankyou!

Please note that this about the restaurant only. We spent 10 days in Gosau and we had to return to this restaurant again and again. The quickness and friendliness of the service, especially the gentleman who we think was one of the owners, is one of a kind. Always in good mood, kind and direct. The view speaks for itself and also the fact that it is always full. The food is absolutely excellent, we tried several main dishes and soups (my kids always wanted to return for the Kartoffelcremesuppe), you cannot make a mistake there. Thank you, Familie Vierthaler, you have really added to our already great vacation. Prices in the restaurant obviously went up since last time (we have been returning for many years now to this wonderful area) but still they remain reasonable. We do hope to return again...and again.

Hi we only stopped for dessert the waiter was really nice . Actually the nicest we encountered in the hole country. We had the pancakes and the kaiser... something the later was amazing they both were and the view from the window is to die for. Fun place to stop. Also many things to do on the lake .

We had lunch here after a long hike into the mountain. Got a table at the window where we could see the lake the the mountains as well. Beautiful location. I picked local dish and was very happy with it. Tasty dish in the middle of nature.

My family and I stayed in this excellent family owned inn. The rooms were clean, warm ,cosy and beautiful. We got the lake view room, which faced the Gosausee lake and mountains. Therefore we had a breathtaking view from the comfort of our room. We also had most of our food from this Inn. It was fresh and so good. The place is also very close to many hiking trails and super close to the gondola that we used to get up to the top of the mountains. Everything is so good in this place. Even the staffs were very nice to us. I would give this place 5 stars and above !!! Well done Gasthof Gosausee for your excellent hospitality. I would definitely come again if I have another opportunity :)

What a wonderful location to stop by and grab a bite before exploring the Gosausee lake! The staff was friendly, and the food was excellent, making it a delightful dining experience overall.

We dined at the restaurant and food was excellent with majestic views of lake gosau and the mountains. Fresh lake fish is a must!!

We stayed at the gasthof for two nights mid-October, we had the best stay we could ever imagine! the rooms are cozy, beds are comfortable and showers are big and clean. the view is breathtaking !
breakfast is insanely good and fresh and anything in the restaurant is tasty ( we ate there so much those days ) the team is sweet and caring they made us feel very welcomed

The view is breathtaking! It's a perfect place for weary hikers. The food is tasty, portions are huge and prices reasonable. Our server was constantly smiling and very helpful. We enjoyed it so much, that we ate there twice.

Typical Austrian food with an amazing view on top! Friendly but a bit long service, very nice waiters. Schnitzel and chicken salad were good. Recommended for dinner in summer when it’s not that crowded and still warm outside.

Great environment, great beer, delicious Apfelstrudel, and a stunning, beautiful view.
It is easy to reach, so you don’t need hiking shoes to have a beer or two.
Clean facilities, nice staff members, great hospitality.
Unfortunately, it is pretty crowded.

Great atmosphere, great service and great food. Prices are very good as well especially for such a location. Perfect for ending your hike and watching over the lake and glacier.

One of the best places I stayed. Excellent unique location. Staff polite and makes you fell like home. Food and service excellent.

It's a great place. Beautiful panorama to the mountains and the see. Very kind and helpful staff. There is a bus stop in front of the building and a lift which is working in summertime. One bus stop the ski lift.

Big menu, food was ready fast , all very hot and fresh.

The Owner and staff tried everything to accommodate the Canadian delegation i was sending there - although almost booked out - the moved beds and rooms to be able to help us out. - the Canadian guests which arrived then by motorcycle were incredible warm welcome and served delicious food - they all totally enjoyed their stay and I have to give you their best regards because they had such a great time with you guys.

Fantastic 4 nights with family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was great, very friendly staff and room was always at the right temperature. Highly recommended.
