Gosauseen

Most beautiful alpine lakes. Very less known among international tourist as they get stuck with Hallstatt itself. The village and lake is 15 mins from Hallstatt and very good connectivity. Bus timing are limited so plan accordingly. There is a cable car too and many trek with via Ferrata too. The place is gifted and has breathtaking view

Amazing place for a walk saw a few snakes there too. Dog friendly water is very cold. Drinking water avaliable on the walk directly from the mountain and was very nice too

This was probably my favorite place from my trip in Austria. Is stunning, feels like is out of this world. The walk along the lake, the affordable boat ride, the people, the accessibility and proximity to the parking place make this a landmark you cannot miss.

Clear waters and a lot of walking tracks. On a nice sunny day like today it is stunning. Highly recommended. You can also see the Glacier way up in the mountains or what global warming has left of it.

A picturesque lake.

Its a dream place for hikers and travellers to trek around the lake You'll find restaurants at the lake and cottages at the trails.

Impressive alpine scenery, a deep turquoise lake and a glacier at the back. It was insane to find divers swimming in the cold lake

15 years ago it was pretty natural with not so many people. Nowdays it's allowed to swim in the lake and it bacame very frequented and popular. But it's still a good place to wander around near to nature. (And the climate change will slowly transform this area too...)

I came here in winter... i think no one come in winter as i cant find any photo :) i went in end of March and lake is totally fozen but i still find it super good! Very quiet place to relax. I only came for 30mins and it is still worth to visit!

Very nice lake, beautiful. Have a couple of hiking trails either for kids and for extreme adult ones. There is a nice restaurant near and also a cable car with stunning views. Very recommended

Let picture tell you what Gosausee about,if you travel by bus possible you do not have enough time to hike up to Hintere Seealm, which about 14km (to and fro)from Gosausee,do not worried about to bring your own food,go to the Restaurant Holzmeister Alm they offer handmade Austria food, just sit back and enjoy.

Awesome trip through the valley to the third lake. Parking is free. I really love this place, I recommend to visit this place. It is not so much known as other places around, so it is(was) calm.

Lingering between mountains of up to almost 3000 m, this lake will amaze you with its appearance like a piece of black glass. This lake is truly unique!
