The Village Coffeehouse

Canning is one of my favourite villages in Nova Scotia. I love, love, love the Village Coffeehouse.
The staff is friendly and they know how to make coffee. My cappuccino was great! It's impossible to leave the counter without a treat to go with your coffee. I had a peanut butter cookie. Enjoyed every bite. The seating is comfy and on a nice/warm day you can sit outside and enjoy the sidewalk action.

I highly recommend The Village Coffeehouse.

Had a great cappuccino and cheese scone with the family. Cute location on the old Canning strip. Walkable to a few other stores and restaurants. Close walk to a park area. Very friendly staff. You have to park on the street.

Stopped by here looking for a quick coffee while camping. The Village Coffeehouse ended up being a highlight of our trip! We had a cream cheese bagel, two tasty lattes, and a delicious homemade cheese and green onion scone! Both of the workers were friendly and welcoming. Very lovely place to visit!

So far, this is our favorite coffee house in the valley. We had a really excellent chai latte!

A lovely bright little shop in the village of Canning. It's a charming atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend

Went in today for a tea and an oatcake. Can’t recommend the oatcakes enough. Would love to know how they make. I live out of province so won’t be able to be a regular customer or I would!

Great bakery and coffee! I got to visit this weekend with my son and I wasn't disappointed! It's a beautiful stylish shop where you can watch them make the pastry and cookies right in front of you. I had a wonderful chai latte and a chocolate croissant. The croissant was light and fluffy, full of chocolate and rich buttery goodness, I can't remember when I had one that delicious. My new favorite treat shop.

Absolutely the best, richest, most delicious coffee in the Valley -- perhaps the province! When I think of how the ultimate espresso should taste, The Village Coffeehouse never disappoints. Fresh, cozy setting with some of the tastiest treats you could hope for: gigantic, fresh, buttery croissants, Montreal style bagels, in house baked cookies and exquisite oatcakes, and some offerings for folks who are gluten-free and vegan. It's totally worth the drive, and I see regulars now coming in from all over the area. It's clear owners Alice and Mike are doing it right. Caution, though, The Village Coffeehouse can be habit-forming!

Love The Village Coffeehouse in Canning! The teas are fabulous as well as the coffee. The pastries are divine and the atmosphere is so very warm and welcoming. The staff is amazing. I would highly recommend that you visit this special coffee house anytime you are visiting the beautiful Annapolis Valley. Cheers!

Cheery, modern, comfy decor. Friendly service and friendly clientele. Delicious treats and always a gluten free and vegan option. Owner, Alice, takes great care to make the best espresso drinks. Addictive experience that you'll want to repeat again and again.

This is the perfect cafe. Quaint location, original and tasteful decor, cozy seating, and AWLWAYS CLEAN. Alice, you have brought a treasure to the village of Canning. Your lattes milk is perfectly steamed... every... single... time. Thank you for bringing in such a lovely assortment of beverages from around the globe. Your suggestion to try the new St. Petersburgh Earl Grey Tea in my London Fog was the best choice of my day. Thanks for always having a chocolate croissant and a smile ready for my belly and soul! We always look forward to dropping in to say hello and grab a snack. Thanks for all that you do and for making us a little happier with your tasty treats and delicious beverages!

My favourite coffee shop in the valley! Alice and Ginger are gracious hosts who always make you feel welcomed. Fantastic coffee and treats done just how you like them - fresh and delicious. I love the GF DF chocolate trail bar. Totally addictive and great in the middle of a bike ride with a Cortado. Love it

My wife and I love this place. It is our new haunt for excellent service, fresh baked treats and coffee when down at the cottage and out on our walks. The cinnamon rolls are the very best we have had anywhere. Seriously!

I always stop in when I am in Canning. The proprietress is warm and welcoming and there's always a vegan treat on hand. Really good coffee too.

The best cinnamon bun I have ever had! Ginger is super friendly and lovely! Go early because the cinnamon buns sell out quickly!

Great quality drinks and excellent baked goods! Atmosphere is typical of that which you would find coffee shop and includes views of the Habitant river that flows behind the town or of Main Street depending on which end you decide to sit. Service is always friendly and spot on.

The owner of the place is truly a gem along with all the other staff and the coffee and treats are absolutely amazing. this is a must stop for anyone visiting Canning.

We were heading to the airport and needed to use the washroom. This place had just closed but the lady was super nice and let us in, and she even let us order from whatever was left. They were super understanding and the drinks tasted great, we're really grateful!

Excellent lively cafe with cosy ambience and friendly clients galore. Delicious fresh baked treats....rich coffee, and welcoming staff. So refreshing not to have a room full of people on computers. A weekly destination with friends in tow. Thank you, Ginger, Alice and Claire !
