My wife and I had Saturday brunch here and it was excellent! The dining room wasn't very busy therefore our server took exceptional care of us. We had two issues with food and drink items being out of stock but were promptly rectified. The dining room is clad with ample woodwork bringing an inviting warmth to the space and has a massive stone fireplace. The walls are decorated with artwork which livens the character. Will definitely return!

We went here for the night of our wedding and were treated very well. The view was breathtaking, the room was clean and comfortable and the dining was exceptional. We had a lovely walk down the spit in the morning and a delicious breakfast to follow. Staff was friendly. The decor is very West Coast with lots of eye catching pieces throughout the resort. Definitely worth checking out anytime of the year.

We had a $400 gift certificate for their dining room, so this review is of that experience.
First off, the staff: they, by far, were the most courteous and friendly people we have ever had serve us. It was simply beautiful!
We had the 4 course meal ($75 per person) with the wine pairing (plus $140 per person). The food was absolutely fabulous! The fish and the beef were so tender that it melted in your mouth! All ingredients were local and organic and the flavours, this Review can't do it justice!

That said, the $360+ tab is way out of our budget. But it is an excellent dining experience for those who enjoy fine cuisine.

Honestly can't say enough good things about this place! Beautiful location, fantastic and dedicated staff, as well as elegant, yet homey accommodations! The moment we drove onto the property there was a doe standing in their garden, unbothered by us it just continued on. The building itself is lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the huge tub and shower were a nice touch! I will definitely be back!

I have been making an annual retreat for myself to Sooke Harbour House over the last several years. I have a very demanding career and I always look forward to an early spring hiatus in the "Edibles" room at the hotel. I love the quiet and serene location next to Whiffin Spit, where one can take a stroll along the ocean and view wildlife or sit on the beach with a book and breathe in the refreshing sea air. I love the beautifully appointed, quaint and comfortable room with fireplace. Every evening I could have a soak in the outside bathtub and listen to the sound of the ocean and enjoy the special little extras such as the delicious evening cookies and a sip of port. I have even had seals slide up the grassy slope towards the patio door early in the morning! The restaurant has delicious local foods, some even grown onsite and the menu never disappoints. Please don't change this beautiful historic setting too much! The character and atmosphere leave this property in a class all on its own!

Absolutely delicious food with beautiful presentation; chef's work is top notch with a daily changing local, sustainable and fresh menu. Apparently my salmon main was taking too long (I hadn't noticed, was too busy enjoying the seaside garden view), so my excellent waiter brought me a complementary soup and topped up my wine free of charge. I can't say enough about the quality of service and attention to detail offered at the restaurant and how delicious the food was. Will definitely return in the future and thank you to the staff for a wonderful experience.

I love this place! Its is quaint, elegant and right on the ocean. The food is amazing,(we did the Sunday Brunch) the selection was exceptional, the cheese, meats and baked goods. They had a lovely Halibut and Risotto, roast chicken, salads! The list goes on! The rooms are beautiful with such a cozy cabin feel and such character. Not to mention the place is surrounded by beautiful gardens and flowers, and the interior is laced with all kinds of unique art for purchase.

The harbor house suites are huge, great views of the bay and ocean. We stayed in one of the ocean deluxe rooms. Very comfortable with real fireplace. The staff were friendly, helpful and available. The restaurant was charming the food was excellent and the wait staff had a good sense of timing to be available yet unobtrusive. The edible flowers used in many dishes are a beautiful treat.

My husband took me here for the weekend as part of my birthday present, and we had such a wonderful time. Our room had a view of the Salish Sea - it was quite a beautiful thing to wake up to in the morning. The room itself felt like a small cabin or cottage, and came with a fireplace and a large tub outside on the patio. Everything was very clean, and the staff who work there are very kind and courteous. It was very romantic and I would love to stay here again.

What a wonderful surprise. My husband and I sailed here and wanted to go somewhere special for dinner. Sooke Harbour House met and exceeded our expectations. Each course was delicious- perfectly presented and the flavours were amazing.

The chefs use fresh from the garden, sea and farm ingredients and everything is perfectly prepared.

I rarely order salmon in restaurants as it is usually overdone. I ordered salmon this time and was very pleasantly surprised. Perfectly done! My husband still raves about his bisque with ravioli and pork belly.

The extra little tasters the chef sent out between courses were taste delights!

I ordered the wine pairing and each glass was perfectly paired with my food.

All in all this is the best restaurant we have been to in decades!

Thank you Sooke Harbour House!

My wife planned an escape for us and it was excellent. The rooms are well thought-out and worth every penny.

The service was great at the hotel restaurant and bar. I did find the pricing a bit high so bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy the the tubs in your room and perhaps a few snacks and you'll be all set. :)

Rooms were clean and well appointed, with great view of water and mtns. A quaint spot with casual elegance dining, staff was very friendly, service was very good. Small requests were met with enthusiasm and great suggestions were made after listening to what our tastes were. (wines brought up from cellar not on menu) by our waiter in the Copper Room restaurant! Breakfast was well done with fresh ingredients.

Incredible! This place is outstanding. If you love art, go here. If you love being by the ocean, go here. If you love staying somewhere that doesn't have canned decor and instead has a beautiful and eclectic design throughout the hotel, go here. If you want to take a long walk by the waterfront on a trail that goes out into the ocean, go here. The fine dining experience was good, which is so rate these days. Yes the portions are small, typical of multi course fancy meal style, so have a late snack ready if you're tougher to fill up. The food was actually very tasty, not just the typical pompous pretty design that most "chefs" have. It had the pompous appearance, but it's ok by me since the taste backed it up. Staff were all very kind and attentive. You can tell they're committed to making your stay a pleasurable experience. The room was quaint and comfortable. The bed while small was incredibly comfortable, the didn't skimp on the mattress or linens. Great little fireplace literally ready to put a match to, wood and paper all setup. Nice large deep hot tub outside your room that you can fill to your liking with great jets. Then patio furniture so you can sit there and stare out at the water or watch the seals play. Beautiful and variant amount of artwork throughout the hotel, all for sale. Thankfully they'll ship, so we should have a new piece or two coming shortly. Breakfast was about the only thing I wasn't partial to. They have some fancy dishes, but I like the option of a fuller traditional breakfast. It's not American nor English. Wasn't bad by any means, just felt like only fancy options or order sides. Side note, if you see a grumpy review near this just ignore it. Some guy going off on the staff yapping about being European and how he knows better. We named him Napoleon... Oh, forgot, they grow everything there in terms of vegetables. Crazy how tasty something is when it was picked a few hours ago. There's zero reason not to stay here. It's not much more expensive than the other places in Victoria, and even then I'd pay double without batting an eye.

Wow, what a wonderful experience. The rooms are cottage like but very nice. Views are terrific. My wife and I are WFPB, whole food plant based, which is more than vegan, and the chef prepared us fantastic foods that were completely in our chosen lifestyle! Amazing.

Absolutely beautiful Venue - The view from the dining area is incredible. Service was on point - we had a slight delay at the beginning which was quickly dealt with and our cocktails made complimentary. We ordered the 4 course menu done Vegetarian and no shortcuts were made by the Chef. The variety of flavours were so simple yet elegant with an incredible focus on letting the flavours of the ingredients speak for themselves. Those Heirloom tomatoes will blow your mind! This made for a very special 23rd birthday for my girlfriend and I. Thank-you Brock - Next time we will come and stay the night!

We enjoyed our stay in room 6, The Herb Garden. We chose to come right when there was a big snow storm with roads closed and ferries cancelled, but our stay was very cozy. Since the roads were bad, they sent the restaurant staff home but only after phoning us to ensure we were ok for food and not expecting to dine at the hotel. We enjoyed looking outside at the ocean and using the jacuzzi tub. My 1 year old son swam in the tub for an hour. The staff was thoughtful and kind, the hotel charming and very clean. Loved being able to walk out of the room right to the snowy ocean shore. My only suggestion would be to have detachable shower heads.

We stayed at the hummingbird suite this past weekend (January 2018) and we were blown away by how exceptional our stay was. It was so incredibly clean (I’m a huge germaphobe) and well kept. The outside looks a bit old as you pull up but the suites are beautiful. The amenities are amazing there’s so much to do right there at the resort. The staff is beyond welcoming and accommodating and I can’t say enough wonderful things about the view! We would highly recommmend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and romantic get away. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you for the lovely memories!

We spent 3 hours eating a magnificent dinner while looking out over the ocean to the mountains. One of the best dining experiences ever! The attention to detail, the combinations of flavors, and the excellent service all combine to catapult Sooke Harbour House to the top of our list.
