North Country Welcome Center

CUTE little rest stop/welcome center right off I-81.

Plenty of parking and ways to stretch your legs. There is electric car charging, dog park, play ground, clean bathrooms, a little cafe and a covered area for motorcycles. Oh, and also a large covered outside area.

Certainly worth a stop to see what northern NY has to offer!

This is a terrific welcoming point as you cross the border into the US. Very clean and neat. We took the dogs to their little dog park and they loved it. The staff are friendly and welcoming. This is a very happy place to stop when traveling. There is even a little hiking area.

What a beautiful welcome center. So so clean, modern and really nice greens/grounds. Very nicely maintained and new. Cute shop we got some snacks from too and the staff was so friendly. Plenty of parking and the bathrooms were very clean. Highly recommend! There’s also a cute “I ❤NY” photo opp sign mentioned many times.

Perhaps The Best Welcome Center / Rest Area in New York State! Extremely clean and very beautiful. Ideal location to stop upon entering United States 🇺🇸 or leaving for Canada 🇨🇦.

Exceptional children play area; EV charging for vehicles 🚗 and very clean restrooms. Interactive screens and maps provide quality information about Thousands Islands and Watertown, NY.

Nice rest area, cafe, and souvenir store in the welcome center. Clean restrooms. Playground for kids. Dog walk area.

Stopped here en route home in PA from Ganonoque and Ottawa. This is obviously a relatively new building. It's well designed, has a Taste of NY store, and lovely staff providing helpful tourism advice too.

The staff were helpful and very friend and had wonderful recommendations. The facility was clean and nice with a cool interactive map and a very nice selection of local products:)

A nice stop on the USA mainland, just south of the Thousand Island Bridge. It's not apparent how to get there from 81. You have to turn off just before the bridge, heading towards Clayton, and then your first two right turns. There's an electric charging station for cars (adaptor needed for a Tesla). The welcome center also has a frog pond nearby, in a nearby, separate parking lot. You can walk the bridge from this location.

A great spot to stop into to get a taste of NY foods and beverages. Very clean facility, great place to take a break from the highway. Check out their Lake & River Roasters coffee, it's the best!!!

Clean bathrooms. They have the I ❤ new York sign but it was raining hard.

Great stop with a small cafe and New York items. Park here to walk the 1000 Island bridge to get great views of the river.

Super clean; reasonably priced food, good selection of local goods. Outdoor kids play area. Great rest stop location!!

Nice and well maintained. And they have a dog park! My dog loved being able to get out of the car and run!

A beautiful place full of authentic NYS products. I sampled the locally sourced bourbon maple syrup!!! Staff are extremely pleasant. Building was very clean.
