Eramosa River Cafe

For all the times I went past this restaurant, today was my first time stopping in. I was unsure based on the reviews, however, since it had been recommended by someone I know, I finally gave it a shot.

The restaurant is small and cozy and the kitchen is open to the public, which I like… Although there were tables available, I had already decided to do takeout.

The lady taking orders was very friendly. The gentleman cooking was also nice and definitely appeared passionate about his food. He stepped in a few times to speak over her to explain the food.

The coffee was pretty good and hot which is most appreciated! I had the ham and cheese sandwich with a side of brocoli salad.

The sandwich was very big and filled with fresh ingredients. The side salad was quite small for an additional $5 but was good too.

I just want to say that every single 5 star review for this place is 120% accurate. What an amazing place and experience.
It smells delicious, the food is delicious, the homemade lemon ginger tea is amazing, everything about this place is amazing.
The owners are so pleasant and make you feel at home instantly.
I've driven past this place my entire life and this was the first time actually going in and wow oh wow. If I could give it 6+ stars I would ! Definitely going back soon 😋🤤

Omg, what a fantastic rustic little spot. Great atmosphere and the best coffee I've had in awhile! We had the following: Flat White (best I've honestly had), Caramel Macchiato (delicious, not overly sweet), curry egg wrap w/ salad, toasted western sandwich. Everything was very very good. Definitely a new frequent stop for me when passing by the area. Highly recommend you come here! The owner is so nice, professional and friendly. Very clean and tidy.

This was our second visit to this charming small cafe. The cappuccino, wraps and salads were delicious. We also took 2 mince tarts to go. I must say, they are the best mince tarts I’ve had! Comfortable spot and friendly service. Will be back.

It harkens back to classic "café society" where you can meet, laugh, and discuss topics of the day, literature, and politics with Chef Leo or fellow patrons, or a quick grab of your fave hot drink n snack.

Leo offers great food suggestions. The Mushroom Blue Cheese soup and Hot Ginger Honey Tea were the perfect antidotes to a cold n icey day! Random chit chat with strangers was also a lovely surprise. Thanks, Susan! Thank you, Leo!

A cosy little cafe with great menu for such a small place. Food is excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Coffee is very good with option for espresso etc.

This is now my third visit to the Eramosa River Cafe and I have enjoyed everything about it. Today was the first time I came in alone for lunch. I eat a bit later so usually end up coming by after the lunch crowd has left. While I enjoyed pasta selections at my past visits I wanted something a bit lighter as I was planning to be out and about and didn't want a heavy meal. Because I come after lunch I always ask for a recommendation. Today was the Quiche with a side of Broccoli Salad. It was perfect. Portion size I found to be very good. The Quiche was filled with all my favourites and the Broccoli Salad was a wonderful alternative to any lettuce concoction. Normally by the time I arrive the waitress is usually on her way out. She has never been anything but helpful during any of my visits. I find the owner friendly and talkative, when he has the time to chat he does. Definitely going to be my go to lunch spot from now on. Prices are good compared to local fast food places...but a much healthier and fresher option for my money.

We found this cafe by accident after walking in Rockwood Conservation area. We have had sandwiches, salads, coffee and baked goods on our two visits there. The food is delicious. More like a gourmet restaurant than a cafe. The man behind the counter is friendly and passionate about his food. There are a few tables but we take our food out to a park across the street on the river. We will be back!

I've been here many times. Stop in everytime I come through Rockwood. Today I took my son in with me for the first time. Chocolate brownie is the best brownie ever. Coffee is delish. Always inviting and service that's hard to come by these days. Banana bread is fantastic. Always love the broccoli salad!!!!! This is the spot my boyfriend and I have frequented for lunch dates. Thank you for being fantastic every time.

What a great discovery! This quaint little cafe in this tiny little town was absolutely adorable. As soon as I entered I saw the display of sweet treats behind glass then the fabulous tin ceiling and I knew I was in for a treat! Head chef was quick to help us with suggestions on specials and standbys. My husband was quick to find his breakfast go to of peameal bacon, lettuce and tomato on a bagel (PBLT), add the cheese. He was very content. Sorry no photo, he was a hungry bear. I ordered the chilli with cheese and toast and it was fantastic. This chilli had clearly been made with love and left to simmer. It was very flavourful and perfect for the coolish morning that day.

Server was friendly and attentive. Ample parking. Seating in the front window overlooked geese in the park across the street. It was delightful!

We were passing through Rockwood on motorcycle trip with friends and stopped here for lunch. It was a very pleasant experience. The food quality was second to none! That's probably because Leo is a chef.
After stopping for lunch at other restaurants, we felt stuffed and tired. After our meals at the Eramosa River Cafe we felt refreshed and energized, ready to ride for the afternoon.

Amazing coffee and sweet treats. Owner was friendly and fun to chat with. Will be back by or sure. A great spot.

Very nice cozie little cafe which was perfect for the small two person business meeting I was attending. Food options looked fantastic and what we ordered was so good!!! I'll be back again, next time for a more leisurely visit - for sure!

Absolutely amazing, the curried egg salad wrap was fantastic as was the broccoli salad.
Followed up with great and personable service would absolutely recommend to everyone to try

I had a roast beef sandwich with tandoori soup, as well as, pecan tart. It was sooo good, just tasted hearty and fresh! The owner and waitress were nice and welcoming. Will def. come back when in the area.

Only had coffee, but friendly staff and attentive service.

This place has the chillest, small town vibes. It’s worth the trip out here from Guelph if you have time to kill on a weekend morning.

Friendly staff, and excellent baked goods. I asked if they had any gf baked goods, the gentleman informed me he did, but warned it it was not celiac friendly, as it had uncertified oats. I appreciated the warning. I'm gluten sensative and can handle oats. Delicious! Friendly service.

I had the Coq au vin. It was exquisite. Robust flavours, each piece of carrot, mushroom, and most tender of meats, and the bay leaf at the bottom, right where it should be.

I'm rarely impressed with North American restaurants, but this was a fine slice of European dining, an experience that took me back to the best times in my life.

The portion size was perfect for the quality and price, quenched the thirst I had for quality over quantity, and reminded me that some people still treat food as a form of art.

I will be back, and work my way through the menu until I have tried everything. But you never forget the first time, and I haven't been motivated to write a review in several years. Six stars.
