This pub was absolutely lovely! Our family of 4 (2 adults and kids 9 & 11yrs old) all had the halibut fish and chips. They were fantastic! We all loved our meals! We also had dessert, one apple crisp, a brownie and the toffee cake. They were also fantastic! Our server was absolutely lovely! We’ve never been to this pub before but will definitely go here again when we stay in Gananoque! It was reasonably priced, quiet atmosphere (Friday early supper), clean and all the servers were wonderful!

We ordered "bangers and mash", shepherd's pie, poutine, cod fish and chips, and toffee pudding. Exceptional! The food came out hot and sizzling.

My hubby's only wish was that the cod had more flavor. My son loved his bangers and mash. I loved the shepherd's pie and the toffee pudding was like a trip back in time, reminding me of my mom's plum pudding with hard sauce.

Just added this to my Canadian hit list and it was a refreshing contrast to the French restaurants that we visited in Montreal. Made me feel like I was visiting Britain, if only for a wee bit.

Very friendly staff!

Had a delicious meal over the holidays at the pub. Fish and chips and the burgers were so tasty. Loved all the festive decor and the cozy atmosphere. Had a lovely server named Kelly who was so sweet and attentive. Lovely Christmas memories!

Food was good and hot on arrival at our table. The beer was not as cold as it should have been but drinkable. Our waitress was friendly but a little slow. Over all though I was satisfied.

Happy we found this lovely pub! From the service, atmosphere and staff everything was 10/10. Try the Baked Brie - you won't be disappointed! Cheers :)

This place is a little gem. We often pass by but we are so happy to have finally stopped in for a meal. The whole experience was phenomenal. Our waitress Mallory was excellent; attentive, funny, and made us feel so welcome. The food was so fresh and delicious. We had the potato skins, the special of the day, mediterranean chicken, steak, and baked brie. They were all excellent. We can't wait to go back. The neighbouring table got fish and chips and they looked to die for. 😋 The Christmas decor was beautiful too!

Fantastic food and a lovely hostess.
We had the stuffed Yorkies, shepherds pie and old English burger. Fantastic! The gravy was so good that we actually cleaned the dish.
The hostess was extremely busy, but maintained a wonderful sense of humour and pleasant disposition throughout.
Would highly recommend.

Wonderful atmosphere with a lot of Churchill and British memorabilia, including some very cool side rooms. Service was very warm and accommodating, even when short staffed. Definitely a place to take a few moments from the summer heat, or to tuck away in the winter. Highly recommended, though a tad expensive.

This place was phenomenal. It was the best place we visited so far. The Brie was amazing and we got the steak. I did feel the steak was a little small but the quality was amazing. Also had the apple pecan pie for desert. A little warning it’s more of an apple pie than a pecan pie but it was still really good. Definitely recommend the ice cream for it as it came out hot.
Portions are also huge! 100% recommended

Just fantastic! The atmosphere is exactly what you get in a pub in England. We sat at the bar and were greeted and entertained by a lively and cheerful Barkeep (Kelly) who kept our glasses and bellies full and a smile on our faces. We had gone to Gananoque for Ribfest and the Ribs at The Old English Pub did not disappoint, nor did the Mussels. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. We're definitely going back.

Absolutely fantastic. First time in Gan, we decided on this restaurant after the 3 hour cruise. We were attended for seating right away. We chose the library themed room, cozy. Waitress was extremely attentive and friendly. Our food was delivered to the table, hot and fresh. We had the cod fish & chips with creamy slaw salad. Everything was perfect. Neither the dish, or the fries were greasy in the slightest. The tartar sauce & slaw were perfection.
10/10 will be back to try something else from the menu. Dessert options looked amazing, but we were too full.

Came for a date day with my boyfriend from Ottawa before a cruise to Bolt castle.

We had time to kill before leaving so we searched for a good place to stop for lunch.

This place should be rated 5 stars.

The restaurant itself has gone way out to decorate and make a true English atmosphere.

We were seated right away by the friendly staff. We tried the Brie as an appetizer and fish and chips. Both exceeded our expectations. The fish is delicious the fries were amazing and crispy (it was so good I forgot to snap a pic for this review) And the Brie was phenomenal.

Everything was amazing and super quick.

Perfect date meal, cute little restaurant, very friendly staff.

Thank you!

We visited the restaurant on Friday 31st May for our wedding anniversary. It was a great ambience. Loved the british style interiors and decor. There was live music being played. Food was amazing! I had the best vegetarian alfredo pasta I have ever had in my life at an Old English pub!! Cheers.

Hubby had the PEI mussels, and I had the bacon and mushroom carbonara. Absolutely delicious! Service was attentive but not intrusive. We were there a bit earlier than the dinner hour, so got a table right away, but by dinnertime, staff was asking incoming customers if they had reservations and there was a wait. I'd recommend making a reservation.

Wonderful atmosphere. Quick, efficient service. Had halibut and chips with coleslaw, spouse had truffle Mac and cheese, and a flight of beers. Everything was absolutely delicious. Price was reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

English style pub / bar.
The bar is divided into 2 sitting outside on the balcony next to the road and an inside part designed like an old library.
A very nice place, courteous and pleasant service, a selection of alcoholic beverages, cocktails or wine/beer.
The food menu is very diverse with a number of English dishes, sausages or ribs.
There are also starters, for example seafood, dishes of Caesar salad.
All the dishes are very large and tasty, the cocktails are very good.

Such a cute patio!! Fresh flowers on every table. The food was delicious. I ordered the truffle oil mac and cheese, my hubby had the jambalaya. Fantastic! Our server was very friendly and the food actually came so fast! Bonus, there was a puppy at the next table that wanted to be everyone's best friend. Super soft. I'm sure he's not part of the deal, though I hope everybody else also gets to pet a dog here.

On a Saturday night this place was packed! A little bit of a wait to get seated and get a menu but the food, live music and environment fully made up for it.

The French dip and baby yokies were fantastic.
