Took my mom out for Mother’s Day here, service and food was incredible. The whole family was raving about the atmosphere. I would recommend to anyone. Didn’t take a picture of the starter sourdough because it was just so good I didn’t have time to capture it before it was all gone!

Loved our meal after a full day of biking. Our service was amazing and food just as great! We rarely order dessert but all of us enjoyed our finish to an amazing meal. Thanks!

We visited Riva on recommendation of our hosts in a close by B&B. I did read some reviews here and was worried that we could have bad experience. However, I must say that we had a great time and food was great! So nothing to worry about!

First off, although restaurant was full, we got our table right away because we had a reservation. You should call to book your table. Service was fast and attentive, and although it was busy, we didn’t experience any delays! Finally, food was very tasty and made to our tasting. Pizza was delicious and was the best what would you get even from a wood burning oven! We also had meat platter complimented with extra olives and Caesar Salad. It was all very good, and quantity was just what we needed.

We chose our own favourite Italian wine (Valpolicella) and it paired very well with the meal. We had overall great experience at Riva Restaurant.

This Italian restaurant is located inside an old style house. Comfortable decor inside. I beliehe reservation is needed here. Calamari app was nicely battered and tasty with the sauce. We asked to change the bolognese to a spaghetti. Sauce and pasta were tasty. The pizza was also very nice. Accompanied the meal with a white wine and a speciality drink which was different.

Foods, ambience and service were great !
Staffs are warm and friendly.
We ordered shrimp scampi and meatball spaghetti. Sangria was tasty . 😋
If we visit that area , we will definitely come back to this restaurant!!

We were pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a restaurant. Our server Zana, was very attentive and quick to check on us! The food was absolutely incredible. The restaurant atmosphere was quaint. A lot of seeting outdoors, although it was a little chilly for that option tonight! I would recommend making reservations, it was pretty busy. All in all we would go back!

It was our first time here and we loved the food and ambiance. Mains are fairly priced but what they charge for bread and wine is a bit much. When we go back we will likely not order wine or if we do not tip on that portion of the bill.

Went for a second time and will likely be our last. There are so many places with better food and service. As a woman I am so tired of having the wait staff cow tie to the men. I ordered the wine. No he is not tasting it, I am! My family has a winery in BC I know tons more than most others as I have my WSET levels as well.

So besides the service sucking waiting to place our order, etc. Steak chewy, pasta cold, dessert salty WHY???

Right from the moment we were seated we had the most amazing server!! Give that girl a raise, she was smart, funny, informative I overpaid her and she actually came to the table to return the overpayment. I told her she should have just kept it but our table thought she was honest and outstanding . I wish I remembered her name, young girl going to university in Hamilton. Goes without saying the food was absolutely delicious.

What an experience! The atmosphere is amazing. We sat at the patio in the back with a lovely water fountain. The food was incredible. From their rustic bread to dessert...we can't even put into words. Service was impeccable and everyone is so happy! Definitely will be back!

Had lunch there. The pizza and pasta was fresh, tasty and well presented. Our server, Ashley (I hope I got her name correct) was beautiful, considerate and friendly. The mâitre d' was a friendly, open woman who made a further compliment to the pizza chef after I complimented him on such tasty pizzas. She recognized his good efforts and praised his work.

Will go back if I am back in the area!

I have been to Riva many times, it is always beautiful and the staff are always so friendly and the food is delicious. However, this time I went for a very special reason, we had a small wedding ceremony at the Town Hall and went for lunch to Riva after and they were fantastic! They kept our cake and sliced and served it for us (for a small fee). So accommodating and happy to serve us and be a part of our special day. THANK YOU RIVA! Will be back again soon.

Such a beautiful restaurant for a special occasion. Beautifully decorated inside and a nice patio outside with string lights adding to the ambiance. Food is incredible and staff are very attentive. Love coming here for celebrations. Make a reservation ahead of time if you can!

It was very busy when we visited and although we had a reservation, we had to wait for our table. It was suggested that we could go sit at the bar to wait, which we did. Elizabeth greeted us warmly at the bar and was very helpful to sort out the wine that we liked. She provided us with samples of several wines until we found one that suited us.
The dining area that we ate our meal in was a great atmosphere with a large fireplace. The food was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Would definitely come back again next time we are in Gananoque.

All of us found our meals scrumptious. Their sourdough bread is heavenly. Our server Elise was very attentive and so pleasant. The manager Colin was managing the power outage with a generator and a great sense of humor. The staff made it seem as if it was just another day.

Had a wonderful lunch. Food was delicious. Staff was friendly, nice and accomodating. I adviced to call ahead for reservation. I did walk-in because I know it was not a busy day on lunch time, Tuesday. I ordered seafoods linguine pasta. It was superb and I ate everything. First time I ordered Caesar clamato, so I do not have a comparison yet, but I liked it. Overall, it was a nice first experienced for me going to the restaurant.

Beautiful restaurant, their pasta was amazing. Had a Caesar salad for an app (forgot to take a photo of it) but it was massive! Definitely could have been split between two people. Service was amazing as well, we had a really nice waitress.

All I can say is…WOW! We were on our boat in the area and gave Riva a try for dinner one night. We liked it so much we went back for lunch and dinner the next day. The pizza is amazing (perfect crust IMO). I had a lobster roll with Caesar salad for lunch and it was spot on. My final dinner was the garganelli pasta with crispy chicken thigh. I told my wife that it was in the top 10 of all dishes I’ve ever consumed. Well done Riva! We’ll be back in July.

We went to Riva for a dinner on Saturday. It was an extremely tremendous dining experience! The food was some of the best we've had, cooked to perfection. The service was great and the decor was phenomenal set inside a historic building. It reminded us how good Italian cuisine can be.

A wonderful venue for a family birthday lunch. We dined inside and everyone thoroughly their meals. The service was great. Highly recommended.

ABSOLUTE FANTASTIC ITALIAN Restaurant.
We came back for another lunch on New Years Eve 2022 and again we liked everything.

We lunched here on a friend's recommendation. What can I say?
Great service, beautiful ambient, the four different courses were all very very tasty - beef carpaccio, caprese salad, shrimp scampi, funghi pizza and a light tasting lemon tart followed by espresso and cappucino.
Best of all for me - we could enjoy Italian Chardonnay. - We even bought bottles to go. Alyssa was very personable and helped with our choices.
