Urban Fare

The insanely generous free coffee promotion this past spring brought me here. (Carte Blanche free drinks for basically anything on the menu throughout I think April and May, which was an INSANELY generous move, I guess I did gatekeep a little bit by posting this review now…)

I found that this was best grocery store in the area with the most consistent range of specialty foods and prepared foods! A little on the small side and pricey for groceries unless you catch them on sale, but I think they really shine in the cakes, deli section, and grab and go section.

I recently visited Urban Fare grocery store at UBC Vancouver and I must say I was extremely impressed with my experience there. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the beautiful and modern interior design. The store was well-lit, clean, and organized which made it enjoyable to shop in.

One thing that stood out to me was the impressive variety of products available. They had everything from fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, seafood, and an extensive selection of international foods. I was particularly impressed with the bakery section which had a wide range of freshly baked bread, pastries, and cakes.

The staff were friendly, and willing to help with any questions I had. I also appreciated how they took extra steps to ensure a positive experience for the customers.

Finally, the checkout process was quick and efficient. The staff were organized and moved through the lines quickly, which was a refreshing change from other grocery stores I've been to recently.

Overall, I highly recommend Urban Fare grocery at UBC Vancouver, specifically if you want a quick bite for lunch or mid day snack. The store offers a fantastic shopping experience with a wide range of quality products, friendly staff, and a commitment to safety. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Well kept store. Impressive flavors and freshness packed in their deli and cater offerings.
Especially recommend their truffle Gouda chess, Hawaiian poke, cakes and charcuterie box.

A beautifully well-maintained store with friendly staff and produce that is reasonably priced when on sale. I truly appreciated their free coffee promotion while it was on, and have made them my home shopping base because of it.

A new and completely standard grocery store that is committed to the satisfaction of buyers, where customer service is provided to the highest level. Health and different tastes of customers are important. Therefore, most of the products offered are organic.

I wanted to comment on the review from a few weeks ago. There was a wind and rain storm which caused the local area to lose power. The store restocked in like a day, but for a bit they didn’t have stock as they were recovering from the power outage.

Anyway, highly recommended for others making Latin food as they have a great selection of peppers, avocado, plantains, and tomatillos. Very clean and well organized with helpful staff.

I recently went to urban fare with my grandmother and was totally impressed with the staff and quality of products there. The staff at each counter was very helpful and understanding especially the person at the cashier counter I guess her name was Lippy she was very sweet and helpful as well as patient with us thus i remember her name. I would surely go there again not just for the products but for the service me and my grandmother revived at the store. Would surely recommend people to go there excellent customer service

I love this place! I’ve been in a few times but after today I had to leave a review… I was looking at the grapes when a supervisor came over to me and told me that the truck just came in with fresh new grapes and he could grab some for me. How considerate and kind! He continued to talk to me and as I was in there with my baby, he told me about his baby also. It was a really sweet experience. The fresh food here always tastes great and they have wonderful and unique options. UBC students get 10% discount which more than covers the slightly more expensive price you pay for quality ingredients.

My three children and I always have a delightful experience at Urban Fare at UBC. The store is immaculately maintained and well-organized, making it a breeze to navigate through its aisles. Despite its modest size, it offers an impressive variety of fresh and appealing options, much to the kids’ delight. They especially enjoy picking out their favorites from the wide range. On a constructive note, it would be fantastic if the store could expand its selection to include specific items like Mexican Coke, Ecomax dishwasher tablets, and Lavazza Nespresso capsules😅

This is a great new location - just opened - the UBC area can really use this. Great selection and hard to find things.

Urban Fare is an excellent, well organized grocery store. They always have the ingredients to prepare a quick meal and opens quite early and closes quite late. The prepared hot food is also quite tasty. One thing to note is that the prices are a little higher compared to Save-on. However, for it’s convenience, the price is often worth it.

Exceptional service at Urban Fare's meat department by Sam! His extensive product knowledge, friendly demeanor, and genuine willingness to go above and beyond made my shopping experience memorable. I went to buy steak of my own choice, and upon requesting he cut me fresh ones. If you’re looking for quality meat and advice, Sam is your go-to expert. A true asset to the store. I went to buy a steak on last weekend and had no idea. Upon asking this guy named Sam recommended me Striploin steak. He is very customer friendly and kind person. Highly appreciate his support. Urban Fare is a huge blessing in UBC surroundings.

We ordered thanksgiving dinner from Lelem and it was fantastic. Portions were very generous, came hot and ready to eat. The roast beef was done perfectly but we would have preferred traditional gravy over au jus. This is the best Urban Fare location!

We love the deli part and the bakery part of this store the most. We come often to grab the BEST cinnamon buns in town 😊 Very moist and delicious. The lady who bakes them is always very nice and cares a lot about the service she provides. Recommended 100%

It is so great to have an Urban Fare at UBC! It has a welcoming environment, it is modern, clean, and well organized. The staff is extra friendly and always ready to help. I recently engaged their service for catering for my sons grade 7 graduation luncheon and the staff was very helpful! Raj and Wasseem overdelivered with accommodating my timeline, making recommendations and timely responses! The community feeling and extraordinary customer service makes shopping at Urban Fare a wonderful experience.

Very clean and well organized grocery store. There are Ready to Eat foods options to choose such as sushi, sandwiches, bento, etc. Parking is free if you spend over $15. Overall, fair pricing and great stuffs.

I did my son's birthday cake order from this store. The cake was perfect, and the bakery manager was such a helpful person. I recommend that when you need any help, just
call WASSEM, you will find him with a big smile

It's small compared to Save On Foods, but probably the best service I've ever gotten. The high density of staff leads to a great shopping experience.

Vaneeta was quick to answer questions regarding the bakery section, and went above and beyond to help me and my friends as customers. Exceptional customer service and definitely deserves a raise, or promotion!
