J & S Records Georgetown

Hands down my favourite record store. Wonderful atmosphere and amazing stock (with extremely fair prices). Super genuine and kind workers, just amazing customer service. I have been here dozens of times and every time they have exactly what I am looking for and are thrilled to chat about it. Words cannot describe how amazing this store is!

Recently had the chance to visit this absolute gem a few weeks back. Needless to say I found two great LPs at fantastic prices. Stumbled across the debut from X-Ray Spex at a phenomenal price, couldn’t beat that.

Unfortunately my only negative feedback would be it’s a bit hard to shop around genre wise and I did have to ask the folks at the Hooded Goblin if/how I could get down to the shop… Also nobody was working down there so the Hooded Goblin employee checked me out upstairs. A bit tough if I did have any questions, etc BUT i do understand that is sometimes the quirk of a small business :)

Overall it is a great shop with tons of potential. Love that they stock new and used, unlike the other shop in the area.

We went to J&S today specifically looking for one record. Not only did they have it, it was a reasonable price. We also looked around and ended up buying many more. They are so helpful and knowledgeable. I will definitely be making the drive to go to this record store. Hands down the best one I have been to.

Amazing what the guys have built in little more than one year. J&S is certainly one of the top vintage vinyl shops in Ontario… and there’s a growing selection of new vinyl, turntables and stereos. There’s something for every music fan.

Very wide selection of records and very knowledgeable. Prices are great and everyone there is very pleasant, I go frequently and would recommend anyone else to buy their records from J and S.

I could write an entire essay about the wonder that is J&S Records but I’ll try and keep it short.

Both the owners are genuine, kind, passionate, and welcoming people. John is very knowledgeable about music and gives great recommendations. Steve recognized it was our first time there the moment we got there and immediately took my partner and I to the back room to show us their latest records. They both made us feel right at home. They’re the kind of people that make everyone feel like their friend!

Not only are they absolutely the best people, but their selection is fantastic especially for 70s and 80s music.

Definitely a hidden gem we were lucky enough to stumble upon. Well worth the trip out there and we will definitely be back.

Finally had time to stop in and check out the vinyl. Was very happy with the selection and the great service.
Happened to ask about turntables during my visit to find that they sell refurbished ones. It had been brought back to life and I was very impressed with the sound.

Great selection of vinyl. Records are in excellent condition and protective sleeves on all of them. Bought several and all played extremely well. Selection of audio equipment is impressive with some vintage stuff. Looking forward to a return visit! Staff are excellent and very helpful.

Best record store in Halton. I highly recommend checking out their vintage vinyl collection, its extensive and has great selection + good prices all around! I also strongly recommend you go here for all your turntable repairs, they do a stellar job. My unit is from the 60's and its been run to the ground, but they managed to completely repair it and its good as NEW. In fact, its in better condition than when I bought it 10 years ago. Thanks again fellas.

Can't say enough good things about John and Steve, very knowledgeable, great selection and even better prices. If your into vinyl records this will quickly become your new go-to!

This place is amazing! A true gem of a record shop located in the heart of Downtown Georgetown. They carry a range of stereo equipment, an excellent selection of vinyl, and their staff goes above and beyond to elevate your listening experience (they helped me source a rare replacement needle in no time flat for a reasonable price). 10/10 would recommend!

Excellent pricing and a very good selection of records for almost any musical tastes. I may have found my new spot.

Best vinyl buying experience I've had since I can't remember. I absolutely love this place. They have an amazing selection of good quality and condition albums. The staff are super friendly and they love what they do. When you're passionate about something it's pretty tough not to wear it on your sleeve, and they do. So happy I stumbled into this store. Can't say enough great things about.it.

Was looking for vinyl stores and found this in Georgetown. Definitely a hidden gem. John was great, suggesting different bands and offering advice, he even played the albums and kranked the tunes, simply fantastic. I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for vinyl. Massive current and vintage selection. Loved it.

I went last week (2 week of January '24) to Georgetown only to visit this store, and this is a place I have to visit again, there are a lots of choices for every taste, I bought few records, the conditions of the medias were quite well, between VG+ to NM for my opinion, the prices are excellent and the owners Steve and John were so proactive, approachable and helpful, you can talk and share your experiences in this wonderful world for music lovers ....I repeat this is a great place to buy your records ...

Great selection and great service. I was able to find some very rare vinyl that goes back to my youth. I will visit again for sure.
