Gasthof Oberwirt -Ramsau

A great restaurant near the river and church , terrace with shade. Tasty food, heart warming and uplifting staff and well speaking english. A very enjoyable experience.

We had an absolutely delightful experience at Gasthof Oberwirt in Ramsau, Berchtesgaden. Nestled amidst picturesque mountains and a serene river, the setting was truly breathtaking. Learning about the hotel's rich heritage spanning 500 years was fascinating, especially knowing that the owners are passing down this legacy to their children. The hospitality was top-notch, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout our stay. And let's not forget the local beer - it was simply amazing, adding to the authentic Bavarian experience. Overall, Gasthof Oberwirt exceeded our expectations and left us with cherished memories. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a blend of history, natural beauty, and warm hospitality in Germany's stunning Berchtesgaden region.

Mountains! 😍 Breakfast included in price. Prices - good ! They have communal fridge on 1 floor - so its good🙌🏻 We had dinner in hotel - aaaw! Food - tasty! Service - awesome! Prices - good! Location of this Gasthof Oberwirt- Ramsau is breath taking. All the tourist attraction is very near by. The staff is so nice,supportive English speaking. Restaurant food is superb. They give a special guest card by which you get discount on local buses and parking lots. Bus stand is in front of the main entrance gate. We went by car lots of parking space for free. Must visit once again next year. Heartily compliments to whole team.

A perfect place to eat just in front of the bus station. Thomas was super nice with us and he recommended us some new hiking tours in the area. We ordered the dish with mushrooms sauce that was big enough to feel full and happy after a good hiking day and a nice conversation.

An excellent restaurant on a terrace behind the church. We came here a few times during our stay in Ramsau. This gasthof has apparently been around since the middle ages. Plenty of vegetarian options, the Bavarian curry and the Spinatknodel were pretty awesome. The waiter Alex was super welcoming and made it a very positive experience for us.

Had the pork schnitzel and “the best beer” recommended by the fantastic waiter, it was a delicious lunch overlooking the splendid mountains. Service here was extremely wonderful and kind but do note that they take cash only!

Went here for lunch today - great and delicious food. Nice service.
We had Käsespätzle and another dish with the best roast potatoes I ever ate.

We loved that the room was really big, light and spacious. The table and chairs were very useful for organising our belongings and there was loads of wardrobe space and hooks for jackets and bags. The views of the valley and Watzmann were incredible. It was also great to have a really big cold fridge downstairs for guest use. Wish everywhere had this to keep water and packed lunches for hikes cold.

We planned our Alpine Route journey in a hurry and hadn't even realised that the famous picturesque St Sebastian Church was next door to the accommodation. We also loved the spa garden, saline inhalation shed and Kneipp water treading pool nearby.

The food at the restaurant was so good- would highly recommend the Majes with potato salad it was huge and very tasty. The breakfast was also great, delicious meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, rolls, butter, jam and you could help yourself to tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers which I love having with breakfast.

Would definitely come back to stay here on our next visit to the Alps.

This is a magnificent small restaurant to eat at. In the summer, there's an outdoor area...with full view of the mountains. Anything from the menu.....I'd rate at four-stars. Large portions, and definitely a home-cooked meal. Parking is a minor issue and you might have to walk 150 meters. Otherwise, this place is definitively worth stopping at.

Very nice restaurant very nice location, just along side/close the river, and sit under the sunshine, food is very delicious, just too much for me(I guess for most Chinese)😂, so I packed it and take away.
Will recommend to friends!

This review is related to restaurant it has nothing to do with room and stay. The restaurant is good, ambiance not that great but the food is good. I loved the home made cake at the end, always ask the speciality they would recommend the best they have. Thank you so much.

This is a perfect place with great food & drinks. Not to mention the very good service & of course the location, highly recommended!

Although this made a mistake first on my drink but they compensated it very well enough. Overall, the food and the service are both very good and you will not hesitate on tipping them.
