Monastery of Santa María la Real

This old monastery was worth every minute. As a pilgrim, I took a 45-minute break and wandered through its beautiful old rooms and walls of Gothic and Romanesque style. Entrance was only 4€ for pilgrims and the audio guide in many languages, truly informative and entertaining. A unexpected jewel on the Camino. The stamp is also really beautiful.

One of the best monasteries I have ever been to. Said by the guy who visited few hundreds of monasteries of all religions worldwide. Burrial place of the kings and noblemen of Navarre. So, absolutely must see if you are visiting Rioja region. Take time also to climb up the hill behind the monastery for great views of Najera

Remarkable and beautiful monastery set into the side of a cliff. Must do if visiting Nejer, it is along the el Camino path.

Very good, well organized, the best bed I sleep in "Camino" so far.

I'm enthusiastic about this place, which I have visited quite a few times. Loaded with history, it is an important pilgrimage stop on the Camino de Santiago (St James's Way)

Muy bonito y bien conservado. Parece mentira que lleve ahí puesto 11 siglos!

Merece la pena visitarlo. Impresiona lo grande que es, más en una población más bien pequeña.

Se diferencia de otros templos similares de la época en que tiene enterrados a reyes dentro, con su espectacular mausoleo. En este caso se trata de los del reino de Nájera-Pamplona, antiguo reino de Navarra.
