Historial Jeanne d’Arc

Wonderful place to visit. They tell the history and story of Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc) clearly and interestingly. For non French speakers, you are given a free translator headset, which works well. I highly recommend a visit here. It will be an hour of your life well spent. You will walk away understanding why Jeanne d'Arc is, quite rightly, so adored and respected in France. The views from the top of the building are also spectacular.

Very informative and entertaining walk through Joan of Arcs final chapter. The history and video tour was immersive and walks you through the building where all of the events unfolded.

The audio tour is offered in several languages as well. Staggered tours depart every 15 minutes.

Honestly one of the coolest little museums I’ve been to! Uses really cool tech to tell the story of Joan of Arc. It’s worth the admission price, but also takes some time (1.5 hr) so be prepared!

The tour last 75min but you can stay more if you want to see every detail properly. Take an audio guide and enjoy!

This was excellently done! As an American coming to Rouen, there's a lot to enjoy even in the off-season, and this museum was a "maybe if there's time" for me. I'm SO glad there was time. It's really well put together. It gives you an in-the-moment feel of the Joan of Arc's trial. It's right in the heart of everything else as well in a beautiful building. It's about an hour and a half of your day, and it's well spent.

Great place to visit. Well told story with excellent special effects that added atmosphere. Good value for money.

Having always known of Jeanne D'Arc since childhood in catholic schools, I had a fascination about her having led an army at the age of 17. I saw a few films such as the
Ingrid Bergman starrer, but this ,museum's presentation of the arrest, trial, and death of
Joan is so vividly real and enveloping, I actually screamed when the fire was lit. Surrounded by multiple screens and with only music and sound effects the fire
Iicks lightly and then wildly overtakes all screens with the viewer dead in the middle of it.
Brilliant is not an overstatement. An experience never to be forgotten

Great experience and well put together tour. It is also very good value for 11 euros. The videos played throughout are very well done. The staff are very friendly.

Very informative experience. Visit is mostly passive watching videos from room to room, but the pace is nice, and the production quality is great.

This was a fantastic museum to learn not only about Joan of Arc's trial, but also how important she is to the French identity. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. Highly recommend to anyone who is passing through Rouen!

Very interesting tour, even though it takes 1h 30min, it doesn't feel that long! The rooms (historical!), projections and stories are amazing!
If you are not a native French speaker, I recommend highly to use the audioguides! They have short clips of old movies and sometimes the accoustics make it hard to really understand everything.

Very enjoyable as someone not overly familiar with the Joan of Arc story. Well worth the asking price and quite thought provoking.

The content was very good, however, I found the English language translation system very disappointing and nearly unusable (June 2023). In each room audio speakers play the French language version out loud. The English language system uses headphones that do not cover the ears so they have to compete with the audio in the room, making it very difficult to hear the version from the headphones. I suspect switching to over-the-ear headphones would help matters.

Perfect blending of audio/visual within a classic church setting. Great story telling with the real issues of her trial and later retrial voiced by the people involved.

Great experience for French history lovers. Friendly people, and the story of Jeanne d'arc is illustrated in a most touching manner. A must see if you visit Rouen

I enjoyed the experience. There is an interesting chapel room at the end of the tour.

Excellent recreationof the trail.Audio in French , describing the proceedings and testimony was broadcast in the room, simultaneously played through your head set in your language of choice.You moved from room to room. Images were played with the chief players parts reinacted.Culminating in a steep climb up the turret to the top.This bit not for peeps using sticks or with breathing issues.

Worth it, brings history to life. Not truly interactive, but interesting nonetheless.
