If you're flying between Spain and the UK on a sunny day, do look out the windows to get a glimpse of the amazing views of the Pyrénées mountain range from above!

Lovely place to visit at any time. We visited in late December. Despite the crowd, the landscape is lovely and a great escape from busy life.

We recently made a day trip from Lourdes into the Pyrenees National Park, a beautiful mountain range and wilderness area that forms the natural border between France and Spain. We very much enjoyed a morning visit to Cirque de Gavarnie, a natural amphitheatre at the end of a lovely valley south of the mountain village of Gavarnie. Our afternoon was made up of a visit to Pont d'Espagne, an area around 7km from Cauterets where you find a handful of very nice waterfalls around the historic Bridge of Spain as well as hiking trails up to and round Lake Gaube,

The drive into the national park from Lourdes is very simple in April, passing by charming mountain villages with plenty of shops, restaurants and accommodations for those making multiple day holidays.

Our morning hike to see Cirque de Gavarnie was around 3 hours in length. There is paid parking in the village for those driving into the village of Gavarnie for the day. Similarly, you will find paid parking Pont d'Espagne, a place we spent another couple hours viewing waterfalls and enjoying a bit more light hiking.

Then we returned to Lourdes arriving back at our apartment by late afternoon. It was a rewarding day trip from 7am to around 5pm, one of the best days spent during our recent holiday. We left with much consideration for having a proper multi day visit Pyrenees National Park the next time around.

It's beautifull, Pic Du Mi is overrated, you pay 94 euros te get a view you could also have had if you walked up 3 hours, but they told that after that we payed. The best experience is going up whit the lift and walk back 3/4 hours.

Amazing scenery! A group of us did the climb to the peak of Néouvieille. Difficult climb but well worth it. The weather was great for us but beware, it can change quickly up there. Make sure you are well equipped if you go in the winter. About 8 hours total without rushing and having lunch at the top.
Enjoy!

One of the best preserved and well-maintained parks of which I was in my life. You can perform different sports activities, such as hiking, cycling and sky. It also has the possibility of being able to pass your station in the hotels in the area, and the access roads to the park are very well maintained and marked. I sincerely recommend you to know this place, it is to disconnect a bit from the routine of life, and connect with nature.

We spent one month in the town of Viey. Each day exploring different trails around the national park. It was November so there was plenty of snow but lovely blue skies and very quiet before the ski season began. This is a very tranquil and beautiful part of the world, with long winding natural walks that you can loose yourself in. I will come back to do some of the Camino route in spring. I suspect it will be stunning.

Drove through here on the way from France to Spain, wow what a landscape!

The park is obviously immense in size, it has fantastic views throughout.

The weather climate went from pouring rain in France to fog, then freezing cold (8c) to misty, then when we entered Spain it became warm again and more desert like.

The highlight for me was seeing the dam, it was icy cold there and I am sure the water was single digits in terms of temperature.

The roads are quite narrow in places, but easily passable by 2 cars. Its a long and windy journey, once that would be such a shame to do in the night time due to all the sights you will miss. Some places may not be good for those that suffer from a fear of heights!

Vast mountain and valley area. Easy access. Good walking with spectacular views for a stroll or overnight camps. Very little public transport. Easy to get away from everyone. Look for the mountain restaurants. Some of the best food in France.

From Andorra L.V. we headed west drive through the amazing landscape of Pyrénées National Park. This is one of the best trip that I did in my life. I did little hike to the top of the mountain and experience the snow for the first time. On the top of the mountain lived so many of the horses. Spectacular views and would be back to here someday.

It's just great domain! It's nice to ski here on winter and nice to walk on summer. The infrastructure is well done by N-PY organosation and by municipal touristic staff. The nature is perfect even with high number of visitors. There are a lot of people from neighbour regions who keeps coming back here again and again to profit the good weather, the clear air and the excellent views...

A truly amazing experience. It can be a difficult hike with uphill climbing, but it is well worth the effort with the view it offers after. My favorite hike so far. Would recommend!
