La Walsheim

Loved this place. The waiter was very helpful. I asked for a regional dish and he recommended a great salad. The table next to me spoke French and all ordered similar fare. The prices are medium and there is great people watching if seated outside.

Hidden gem in the city center of Rouen. From the outside you don't directly imagine such great quality. But when you see the menu and order the food, you instantly know that you made the right decision. The food is amazing! Just as the drinks on the menu and the staff waiting in the cafe/restaurant. I would definitely go back here. The interior of the establishment can be considered as very romantic.

Very nice place. Good value for money, we all had meat or sea choucroute except one who had an onion soup. Staff is young. They still have to get experience but they are willing and enthusiastic. The restaurant is located just behind the cathedral saint maclou and it was whorehouse up to the second world war called the blowjob, then a cabaret and since the 70' a french brasserie.

We actually ate here twice... Simple kids menu but plenty big portions for hungry Toddlers. For the grown ups the food was lovely and a typical selection for the area. We didn't get it, but the menu of the week looked especially good. Portions were generous, wines and beers also good. Service was excellent the first time we went - the young waiter had excellent English (which he was keen to practise!) and talked us through a local speciality - calvados. Admittedly, left with a bit of a buzz! Easy for families and central to everything without feeling quite so tourist-y

Great food and wine, excellent service, good prices. Had the 3 course menu du jour at €20, excellent dishes and superb value for money.

Had late dinner at 10:30, the only place that works this late in the neighborhood. Excellent quality, taste, and service. Calm chic ambiance.

We were late looking for lunch and had been refused entry in other restaurants as in France lunch is set from noon until 2.00. we only wanted something light and the Waldheim welcomed us and we were able to order a snack and stayed for a while as it started to rain. Very friendly staff nice food.

Simply wonderful! Beautiful food. Very helpful and attentive staff. Eating here is worth every penny. We can not praise it enough.

Arriving around 14h at Rouen we were told by all other restaurants that the kitchen was closed 🙄 until one owner send us to the Walsheim 👏
Not only we were received as it should be but we were served a delicious meal. I took the menu and my love a salad and both were great 😍
The Walsheim is busy not only because they are the only ones open after 14h but also because they serve great food 👍

Very nice place to eat in one of the most iconic areas of Rouen, they are open from lunch to dinner time nonstop. Their speciality is choucroute but they have a lot of other options. Confit de canard, lamb, foie or beef tartar are really good.
Staff is quite nice and the place is big but depending on the day and hour you would probably want to call before to get a table.

The apertif was on point. The escargot was divine. I had salad with chicken, chorizo, and potatoes. The meat, vegetables, and salat were evenly balanced on the pallet. The temperature of the wine was perfect.

Very good onion soup. Not much cheese, but overall, very good.

Good prices and a lot of food in your plate! We ordered 1 each between 8 and 12€ and when finished we were full.

An incredible place with fantastic staff. The food is pricey, but has the quality to match. Would actually return to Rouen just to eat here.
