I have lived in France for 35 years and I can honestly say this is the best meal I have ever had anywhere in all that time. We arrived without a reservation, mid October (we later saw in the info blurb at our gite that reservations are recommended) and were lucky enough to get the last table. The food was out of this world and the personnel were smiley, friendly and welcoming - even when we broke a glass ! Sadly our short stay in Issigeac prevented us from going back but when next in the area we will surely return.

Our last visit was just before the pandemic and today we discovered that the current owners had been running it for just two weeks. They presented lunch faultlessly. We opted for menu of the day: subtle goat's cheese with zest of beetroot, an excellent fish main course and a sublime raspberry tart to send you on your way. Top!

Firstly, I have to thank you to the wonderful staff for seating us at such short notice- to our blessing, the last table was unoccupied by virtue of two “no shows”.

I started with a wonderful champagne cocktail, which was absolutely delicious. We then had the crayfish ravioli followed by the fish of the day for me, and my husband, the fillet of beef. Both dishes were refined to perfection!

The wine was lovely and the service wonderful, oh and I almost forgot to mention the intimate nature of the restaurant which has just a small number of tables, each taken advantage of the beautiful view!

The service was wonderful and was always with a smile.

Thank you so much for such a lovely dinner, we will certainly be visiting again.

Wonderful restaurant. We had a great selection for their three course lunch menu and all four of us thought it was one of the best meals we had in a long time. I would have liked to have seen more vegetarian options. The quality of the dishes we had was exceptionally high. The service was very friendly and efficient, and we sat in a pleasant shaded courtyard. Highly recommended!

A really excellent restaurant, very well priced and an extensive and affordable wine list. We arrived at 7.30pm to an empty restaurant but by 8 the place was heaving. Great service, superlative food and many nice touches, especially the amuse-bouches. Well worth a visit to Issigeac to try it out.

Such fantastic food. I've been to a few Michelin starred restaurants and in my view this place deserves a star too. The food is so so good and the price defies belief for the quality and service you get. This is my top recomme dation for Issegeac. Book ahead and you'll be so pleased you did.

Very friendly staff, they had an English translation for the menu so that made life a lot easier as internet reception wasn't great. The food looks as good as my photos and yes delicious was an understatement. I came here for a special treat and wasn't disappointed at all. I got to say everything looked good and it was hard to chose as the special also looked amazing. I really really enjoyed myself. Even the house champagne was a wonderful taste as it was so easy to drink, sometimes I find it too sour or dry but this one has hints of biscuits and was dead easy to drink. Main was a beautifully cooked medium rare beef and the cheeses were divine and deserts, the macaroon a divine flavour and the chocolate was an excellent all rounder it wasn't too rich or bitter and made it so moreish.

This classic country restaurant makes it worth a trip to Issigeac, France. Two friends and i went without a reservation having reached Issigeac for the first time after a long journey and the staff were very welcoming even though they were fully booked. They set a table on the outdoor patio for us and treated us like their preferred customers. Eating on the terrace was very refreshing after the long day. To add to the excellent service and perfect casual ambience, the food was fabulous. With my limited French language I chose the chicken with mushroom gravy as the main course and the warm chocolate cake for dessert. Great service and soul-satisfying food made for a most delightful evening. We returned a few evenings later and enjoyed the experience as much as the first time. We recommend making reservations.

The Crayfish starter was excellent as always. Special main course of the day way rack of lamb and shoulder of slow roast lamb - superb.
Rightly so it was fully booked. We think that it's one of the best restaurants in the area.

We had the full menu x2, 2 dishes a cheese plate and dessert, and a bottle of delicious wine at this restaurant and only had to slip 70€ for the whole evening. Not that this is a bad restaurant at all.. quite the opposite! In my years of restaurant visits I have never had taste explosions like this one. The salad was a beautiful mix of bitter, salt and sweet! And the the rest of the dishes was equally tasteful. Best visit I've ever had. When I return to France.. special emphasis on WHEN, I will definitely be back here again. The restaurant itself is very cozy, you truly feel comfortably at home at their inn. Old French interior and the waiters were most accommodating from ordering, to fixing my dish when I messed up and ordered a dish containing shrooms (as I have allergies towards those damned sponges!)

To top it off, I can assure you, when you leave this restaurant you won't be leaving hungry. And breakfast the next day is petty much taken care of already.

To sum it all up; La Brucelière is plentiful and wonderful. Go there.

One of their waiters speaks better English than the other and they have no problem helping you if you have trouble understanding their menu.

Tip: Reserve a table & Learn a few basic food words and you'll be fine!

Two us had a main course and a pudding each. Both courses came with an amuse bouche and the whole meal was first class. With half a carafe of red and service €70.

Issigeac is an amazing medieval village... And in this gem of a village, La Bruceliere is really nice restaurant and hotel, with a very friendly host and hostess who will do their utmost to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I have stayed there a couple of times visiting family, and their rooms are cosy, clean and quiet. The morning breakfast is a feast, with your usual assortment of Croissants, bread, etc. as well as fruit and cold meats.
The restaurant is also very good, serving local fare with a twist (not your usual tourist trap)

Perfect food and ambiance. Such a varied and different menu. I just wish I lived closer and not just because we were going to Bergerac airport.
