Great picnic place for families. A full layout of miniature hand built steam, electric locomotives. These also have carriage's to experience the pulling power of these machines. There is also a portable and fixed smaller layouts for younger children to enjoy, and adults too. Parking is limited so pack up lunch and get there early, and enjoy.

I have been here many times over the last few years. My son is mad about trains and is always happy to visit here. There is a good sized picnic area although only a couple of tables with benches, a good idea to bring a picnic blanket of you plan on sitting for a while. The trains run around the outside of the picnic area and there are occasionally steam trains running. You can ride on the trains, with a suggested donation of £1.50 per ride which can be paid by card or cash (it is done on an honesty box/card payment). Anyone under 10 must have an adult ride with them. The volunteers that run the railway are always very friendly and great with kids.
An addition for this year has been a train set that kids can have a play with and control the trains themselves - it seems to have been welcomed by visitors and loved by children.
Parking can be a bit tight on sunny days but I have always managed. There is occasionally a food van there although I have not seen it in a while.
The trains run most Sundays (although closed over winter) and some Thursdays during summer holidays.

Parking available but fills up quickly. Really good miniature railway. Grassed area surrounded by woodland with picnic benches also so you can also wave to those riding on the train. Is free but with a donation box, can also donate by card. Well worth it.

I had a great time @ the Miniature Railway. The staff are very friendly, polite and professional, The carried out the Covid 19 routines to the book. I definitely recommend that everyone of all ages can go along & visit this truly lovely little railway & enjoy the experience.

Easter 2024 update, it's got much better. There's two smaller areas, one with remote control Playmobile trains for young kids who are offered the remotes to control the trains. Another area has 4 large circuit tracks for viewing only. We saw a large Lego train, some battery powered locos and a few steam trains, all Guage one.

This is a great little train ride. There is no charge but a recommended £1 pp voluntary donation which we thought was very good. Everyone was so nice. We took our grandchildren and they loved it. After going round twice we then watched the model railway for a while. It's a lovely picnic site.
