Lovely comfortable and warm cottage in a fantastic location. We stayed for a long weekend at the start of December and couldn't have been luckier with the weather. Lots of walking and mountain biking in the day followed by relaxing evenings in the cottage. We look forward to returning in 2020 :)

It was the 2nd time we've been. It is VERY well appointed, comfortable and just where you need to be in the middle of Snowdonia. For railway enthusiasts, the Welsh Highland Railway station is less than 5 minutes walk away. This connects with the Ffestiniog Railway in Harbour Station, Porthmadog (by road,15mins drive) and the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway is on the outskirts of Porthmadog - well worth a visit for families who want a shorter visit, a short train ride and a visit to their excellent museum. Plenty of good walks from here too.

Best village, good accommodation with good views. Noisy river can disrupt sleep depending on the room.

Moth infested with dangerous furniture
Massive moth infestation. Reported it as soon as we arrived. Owner told me on the Saturday that she would sort it. She then ignored numerous emails over the next four days asking for updates which included photographic evidence of the daily battle we were facing. She finally came over half way through our holiday on Tuesday evening to tell me she wouldn't be doing anything about it after all. We were killing up to 100 moths per day, it got progressively worse as the week went on. They were everywhere in the property. They were on walls in every room, in curtains, on blinds, on clothing, flying out of anything whenever we moved items - particularly clothes and footwear. I moved a pair of slippers and several were underneath with three flying out of the slippers themselves. See image of the carpet. By the end of the week we were left with 6 items of moth damaged clothing - two of which were brand new for the holiday.
Without doubt the most stressful cottage holiday we have ever been on. We had driven for 7 hours to get there.
The cottage was filthy. The carpet had visible layers of dust and the cobwebs (of which there were loads) also had dust on them suggesting they had been there a long time.
There were five of us staying as the cottage was advertised for up to six people. There was nowhere to hang any clothes etc for those sleeping in the lounge. Dining table only had seating for four, and one of those chairs was so worn it was at the point of collapse. There weren't even any fold up chairs. As a family we sit at the table for meals. We had to bring a stool from upstairs to put by the table to make up the fifth seat. My daughter ended up falling through the frame and badly injured her back as the top of the stool wasn't attached, flying off as she went to sit down. Informed the owner, sending images to show her the injury to my daughter and she told me the stool wasn't suitable for children!!!! She didn't once ask if my daughter was ok or address the fact the furniture was dangerous / lack of seating for five people. See images.
The armchair is smelly and completely worn by the head area. See image. The blinds are filthy and covered in various squashed things and toothpaste. The whole cottage is tired with several repairs needed. There is a broken step in the overgrown back garden and the outdoor furniture was covered in algae.
I have sent the owner countless emails both during our stay and afterwards. She ignored them time after time. She eventually replied to say she won't be giving us any recompense for our trashed holiday and damaged clothing.
Avoid this cottage at all costs.
