My friend and I had the Persian stew which was so tasty (its vegetarian).
The waitress turned the music down a bit for us which was helpful, and was very attentive.
I need to take my husband so he can also try that Persian stew!

Had a lovely meal here, maybe a little posh for my liking but was definitely a treat!! The staff were kind and attentive. The atmosphere relaxed and food delicious.

Couldn't recommend this place enough! The staff are so so helpful and lovely, and great to be greeted by the chef on arrival and through the meal. Food was sensational.... Can't wait to go back.

Really great food, good service and good atmosphere. One of the best gastro pubs in the area.

It's been 5 years since my last visit and unlike last time I really enjoyed the food and service.
I would highly recommend the Monday Club menu. Strikingly good value; choice of starter, main and glass of house wine for about£13
All our party opted for the wonderful mussels with chilli and lemongrass for starter. My dad thought it was so tasty that after he finished the mussels he poured the sauce into a glass and drank it!
Some had pork loin in cider sauce for main and the others had burger with chips.
Lovely old building adds to the ambiance. Really warm welcoming service from the young ladies at front of house helped make it a memorable and good value lunch.

Food was fantastic. I'm not a huge fan of Sunday roasts but had the lamb and itcwas delicious. Only slight criticism was that we waited ages for our drinks and they arrived after our food.

Brilliant Restaurant! We had Sunday lunch here today. The roast was without a doubt the best roast I've had at a restaurant - normally at other places they are pants. Highly recommended

Me my wife, Daughter and son in law visited on Sunday 10th Sept for Sunday dinner. Food was superb, waiting staff are young but very professional and attentive. The restaurant is comfortable with plenty of room between tables, with a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend. We will be returning soon.

Chose to have lunch here after visiting West Green Gardens and stopped at 1.30pm. Were given a table for two immediately as it was quite empty inside. A lovely garden and tables for outside eating, but too hot for my wife. We had quite a long wait for service but received an apology, so that was OK. We both ordered Hampshire hog and herb sausages with mashed potatoes and onion gravy. This arrived very quickly and was delicious. My Phoenix ale was tasty and refreshing as was my wife's soda and lime. A good and tasty lunch.

Friendly traditional pub with outside pods in the garden, cozy fireplace and plenty of parking. Good selection of beers. A little bit difficult to find - it's easy to drive past - just look for the petrol station - it's behind that! (Whoever let that be built there needs shooting!!!)

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here today. Our server, Sophie, was charming and very attentive. She remembered my sister-in-law from her birthday visit some months ago which made it very special for her. The food and drinks choice is excellent, the atmosphere is friendly and the pub is very comfortable.

Lovely Friday evening at The Phoenix - nice buzz from the moment you walk through the front door. And a great selection of food and nibbles for Fizz Friday. Fish and chips as epic as ever - big up to all of the staff 😊

Absolutely delicious food and really friendly and helpful staff. The only downside was that it was freezing cold, despite sitting next to the 'fire'

Good food and friendly service. Particularly enjoyed the roasted vegetables with feta and pesto. Chocolate puddle pudding also lovely.

What an exceptional hidden gem! We sat outside in a beautiful garden area, ordered and waited long enough to know the food was cooked to order but not too long. Our food arrived and it was upper end Resteraunt quality. A great touch was a table offering FREE use of straw hats, sin cream etc for customer use; a genius addition. I have MS and had the start of a 'flare up' which, when we were at the car I ended up on the floor by the car (no, not beause of the wine!) a member of staff with no fuss, no comment came and got me into our car! Thank you oh nameless one. We feel so comfortable recommending the phoenix to everyone. We'll done staff, chefs and anybody else involved in making this place so good. 10 Stars ✨

Service was great and drinks/food came out at a reasonable speed given that it was a busy Sunday at peak lunch time. Very professional and courteous staff who checked on us several times and the Chef even popped out to greet us which was a lovely touch. The food was enjoyed by everyone and it was a lovely location to be in- surprisingly we have not been before despite being in the area for a year and being within walking distance!

I almost rated 4 stars simply due to there being no high chairs however we had read previous comments and were aware this may be the situation so cannot fault the pub/restaurant for that. It was the only thing that could have improved our lovely experience and maybe would encourage the owners to reconsider this even if it meant segregating the parties with children to a specific family area so it doesn’t spoil the ambience for other guests.

Family catch up x 7 and thoroughly nice food. Only disappointment there wasn't an option for Gluten free sandwich but there was a good selection of other dishes. Very pleasant and attentive staff.

Popped in for a quick drink. Staff were lovely and accommodating and happy to provide a dog bowl when we asked for one. Lovely cold lagers and a relaxing beer garden. Will definitely be back again
