We had a wonderful evening at The Mutton celebrating our anniversary. The staff were super friendly and attentive, the pub was beautifully renovated and interiors cosy and classic. Then there was the food … we couldn’t fault anything and were blown away a by everything that landed on the table. Already planning our next visit out of London just to come back and eat.

Lovely place, food was great, staff were pleasant.
Had a slight issue with the bill, but it was taken care of straight away.
Looking forward to going again!

Such an amazing place. I went here for my Birthday with my husband and children and we stayed in the cabin. Staff and food were wonderful. I will certainly be coming back again! Thank you. ❤

Beautifully renovated pub, serving excellent food. Rated with 2 AA rosettes and the food certainly delivers. Garden is an absolute delight with a stunning wisteria covering the lower seating area. Definitely a place to take friends and family if you want to wow them! Menu changes regularly with the season so always something new to try on every visit we've made. Had the scallops which were divine andnso perfectly cooked and lots of nibbles from the garden menu. Highly reccomend both the pork belly main and lamb shoulder, melt in the mouth tender and delicious garnishes with beautiful plating.

Very glad to have found this pub. Food & drinks are quite pricey (we spent £41 each for a main + non alcoholic cocktail) but the price tag is compensated by good quality, great service, lovely ambiance and fantastic setting. Would gladly return and recommend this place to friends.

First class. Food was delicious, well presented and perfect portions to enjoy a 3 course meal. Service was welcoming, attentive and friendly. Menu was varied with vegetarian and fish options. Decor was knockout, kudos to Housenine. Can’t wait to return 🫶🏼

Had a nice Sunday roast, my brother brought his dogs which is helpful for dog people. We didn’t realise they had such a nice garden and had we known might have sat outside in the sun. Food was really good. Some small room for improvement on the roast potatoes however overall excellent

Good times will be had by all whom visit this fine establishment! Lovely friendly welcome by staff and a warm log fire 🔥 Outside area is a delightful countryside scene with local cattle nearby and good quality solid garden furniture.
Food is lovely, even though I didn’t have a proper meal, just snacks. The plates that came out looked delicious! Great beers and bar selection. Top place 🍻🥂 🐄

Great food to complement a night out with wife, daughter and her fiancé. Main courses of steak and venison were fab. Homely, warm atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Not that cheap but very good food - so definitely worth the cost.

This place is such a gem! Delicious food, comfortable surroundings and charming staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating of my rather restrictive dietary requirements. We stopped here on the way from London to Somerset & can’t wait to return. The menu is carefully considered and appears to be ever changing which is always good sign.

First step through the door you're greeted by friendly staff and a blazing fire. The atmosphere is very welcoming and homely.
The interior design is honestly next level from the lighting to set the mood, all the way down to the small details and decorations to make you feel right at home.
All the effort into the design puts you into a relaxed mindset making it easy to block out the internal noise, drink some wine and eat some amazing food.

Talking about food, it's to die for!
We came as a group of 7 so naturally we ordered one of everything and shared.
I'm not a fan of cheese but every single cheese dish had me second guessing myself.
First glance at the menu I was thinking this is just your standard grub with fancy names but I couldn't be more wrong.

My favourite dishes was the squid crackers, venison main dish (wow!) and the salted caramel tart with coffee ice cream.
I will be coming back.

Everything was excellent. If I had to nitpick, I felt the bench I sat on to start with was a little low and sitting right by the entrance to the gents meant there was a gentle, but constant flow of people behind me. Told you it was nitpicking!Really looking forward to our next visit though.

The other thing I particularly liked was not getting harangued by the staff with insincere questions about whether the food is okay. Normally, and it is the restaurant managers who are to blame for this, staff are told to keep asking if the food is okay. The trouble is, this normally happens when you have a mouthful of food and I'm telling you, IT IS REALLY IRRITATING! Believe me when I tell you, if there was an issue, you would not need to ask to find out...

I am fortunate to have eaten in some really nice restaurants over the years and without exception, the top class eateries will leave you alone and gently enquire between courses or at the end of the meal. This does not mean to say they are complacent or uncaring - no, they are professional. Waiting-staff worth their salt will be constantly scanning the room to see who is happy and who is not. This is by far the most customer friendly approach.

I gave 4 stars not 5 for the atmosphere because although the decor was fine and it was early in the evening, it was very quiet. Essentially, there was no atmosphere. I'm not suggesting that it would be great if everyone was shouting to be heard by the person opposite, but it felt a little like a waiting room or a wake - perhaps some gentle music in the background?

Kayla was our waitress and she made us so comfortable. Enough time in between meals but made sure our drinks were always full. The food was to die for and for a table of two we couldn’t decide who had the better dish. Great experience

Beautiful hidden spot set in an idyllic location. Rich smells of burning wood, attentive staff. Fabulous wine list and an interesting menu. Our first time here and we will be returning with family. Highly recommend.

Another lovely meal and great service from the young front of house team. We were celebrating Louise’s 50th and The Mutton was always in the short list of our favourite places. Gorgeous Nibbles, Starters and Roast Beef. Beautifully cooked and presented. Thank you

Went here after reading about their review and was not disappointed. Before I even walked in I could smell the fist and chips and had to order it. One if the best fish and chips I have ever had, food was tasty, fresh and service was top notch .

I've eaten here a couple of times since the refurb and the food is of an excellent standard. Really high quality menu in a beautiful pub setting. The garden is gorgeous and you can also dine in private shepherd huts. Thoroughly recommend the banoffee cheesecake
