One of my favourite book shops anywhere. Huge collection across 2 floors with a mix of new and old books organised by subject and with a special section for collectibles. Could easily spend hours browsing here and never fail to leave with a bundle of books. Consistently friendly and helpful staff. Having toilets for customers is a
nice bonus.

Beautiful book shop, lots of options. They sell both new and second hand as well as collectors editions. A very beautiful place

Hey Cinema Bookshop is a wonderfully large bookstore that simply keeps on going. You could spend days here browsing the large variety of books, CDs and so on! Id say everything is reasonably priced and it's easy to navigate with maps dotted around the store.

This place is incredible. They have taken the old cinema, ripped out all the seats etc and put in book shelves. It boasts 200,000 books but I'm sure that is a serious understatement, the bookshelves just go on forever. There is an enormous collection of both new and secondhand books from every genre.

We found some amazing books that we've never seen the like of before - for example I was looking for steam train books for a relative, and found several large books full of steam train artwork. These were less than £10 each.

One of the best bookshops I have ever seen. You will find nearly everything. Prices are more than fair, a well sorted Shop. Students in GB get 10 percent discount. The location is not correct on the map. You will find the Shop in Church street, close to The Swan Hotel.

The most incredible book shop I have ever been too. We recently visited them with my 2 children whilst we were in the area visiting family and it did not disappoint. My 5 year old daughter could not choose which book she wanted to read first and has had her head stuck in her new books since our visit. My 12 year old step son who is normally not a big reader chose his book (again blown away by choice) and has not put it down. The staff in here was so unbelievably friendly and bent over backwards to help my children find the right book for them. We nearly lost my Nan in here through the isles of books. A great visit for the whole family and to reconcile a love for reading. Cannot wait for our next visit.

Huge selection of books, some old and rare others new or excess print runs. Well worth a visit.

I love this quirky bookshop, I've been visiting for the last few years. Every time they've had what I wanted or even something better. My husband is a sci-fi buff and they found him some genuinely obscure works.

What an amazing shop!
It has a vast selection of books, which are well organised and categorised. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, very helpful & always friendly and it is just a wonderful experience to shop there - no trip to the area is complete without a visit to the Cinema Bookshop

Amazing labyrinth of incredible books! Any niche interest you might have, there will be a section of books there. Particularly impressive Art & History sections. Kind lady running the shop let us in for a browse just after the closing time too, as we’d just missed it. Thanks 🙏

What a place to get lost in. From the incredible smell of old books to the helpfulness of the staff, I could spend my whole holiday just browsing and reading. Their Antiquities team really know their stuff too!

Always my first port of call (and second and third). Always find a lot of good stuff in literature in translation, and literary biography/autobiography/criticism. Poetry is hit and miss (such is second bookshops) where one time I'll find a dozen or two great books, and the next time zilch. For me, the h/b literature is a bit disappointing, but then a bookish friend was very pleased with her finds - so probably just me. Prices are reasonable - perhaps the best of the shops in Hay on Wye.
