My best mate and I met up here for a drink and a spot of lunch - his recommendation as he’s previously been here with family and liked the food.

He had a tuna sandwich with chips which he said was very nice, I ordered the Steak & Ale Pie & Chips from the Specials board - very tasty indeed, whilst next time I’ll try something else I’d also definitely have it again! Had I realised it came with its own allotment I’d of requested to the landlady to omit that from my plate as I don’t eat that, but next time I’ll know! To be fair the board didn’t mention the veg!

Having read other people’s reviews I notice few complaints about attitudes, food wait times and also about allergy issues - it’s a pub, not a 5-Star gourmet restaurant! If you ask stupid questions you’ll get an appropriate response I’d imagine!! It clearly states in big letters at each bar “We don’t do fast food” and also some allergy/gluten not free signs - so I see no point in complaining when you’ve already been warned.

It’s a country pub that does great home-cooked style meals for a reasonable price. I’ll definitely be going back.
The only thing that needs improvement in my opinion is some of the decor could do with freshening up. Although you can see they’ve made progress around the bar areas so getting there I’d imagine.

We called in for lunch today. A nice old building that's welcoming and comfortable inside. I had the breakfast brunch and my wife had the southern chicken burger with onion rings and chips. Both were generous portions and very reasonably priced. The meals were excellent and the service friendly and efficient. Well done to all involved. If we were staying closer we'd definitely visit again.

Had a fantastic meal Saturday 27th April. Eleven if us in our party. All food was served to us at the same time and service was excellent. We had a lovely family meal and will definitely be back and will recommend to friends. Thank you all so much.

Stopped off for lunch before a funeral at the nearby Crem.

The steak and ale pie was awesome and arrived quickly. The whole place is a lovely clean environment.

Only downside was the interaction from the staff......I know it was busy but a smile and a "hello" or "goodbye" goes a long way.

I stopped here around 2016 during a massive storm. My Triumph Spitfire was flooded and the engine would not start. Someone in the pub leant me a spark plug socket and tools to rescue my car. I now know which pub it was. Great pub and those who helped. Thank you

Food was excellent, I had a burger and couldn't of done better myself.
It was delicious and plenty of it.
The wife is vegan and hers looked and tasted amazing, and that's hard to find!
Was totally shocked by how good the food was at that price.
Thought we was getting run of the mill food.
Far from it.. 10/10
We will definitely be telling our family and friends and hopefully be returning soon.

Love it. Friendly service and quick tasty food. Beer garden was fairly busy when I arrived but they're not slow. Definitely rate the ceasar salad for quick light meal. Dog friendly + AF beers & ciders.

I'm Italian, a difficult customer about food especially when I'm tired from work but I must say that finally after 3 years in England I ate the first good double cheeseburger, huge portion, I couldn't finish it! fair price and always smiling staff ..

Not been before, so pleasantly surprised to find such a welcoming pub in a small village. Lots of cars outside but still ample room inside or in garden. Food very reasonably priced, with the weekday option of half portions. I had cod and chips, which was cooked to perfection. My friend had lambs liver and bacon, which she thoroughly enjoyed. A very pleasant experience in what I found was a very popular pub. It deserves to be.

Popped in out of desperately needing a drink ( loo break). Had a drink; rude not too, looked at the menu, saw the super sensible prices, thought yep, give it a go, so glad we did, the food is awesome, home cooked fresh as, super delicious 😋 so good I even took the wife for a meal there, wife loved it. Can't fault the staff, super efficient and very accommodating, I loved the old world charm of the building and its setting in an idealistic area, plenty of parking, not a traffic warden in site, would seriously recommend this place,

First time back for a long time, and I can only say it was worth it. Food that we had was excellent. Did not have them myself, but the onion rings looked amazing

Very friendly staff and delicious (hand made) burgers. The garden is spacious and with a cold pint of ale an excellent stop over.

We stopped here as I had been dragged up the large hill behind the village, really nice pub to walk into with very nice and attentive staff. Originally only getting a pint as early afternoon but they had suet pudding which just tempted me, the wife is vegan and they catered for her getting a coffee which she said was very good, she had a vegan burger as not a massive choice but sometimes that's the case. Really worth the stop and food quality and choice for non specific diet will get the juices flowing and the Guinness went down beautiful. Go on stop for a good experience it's worth the visit.
