Monkey Island Estate

Despite it being in the middle of winter, when we stayed there, the grounds were lovely, the hotel was properly maintained and staffed. The room, despite being a little bit on the small side was more than adequate for two of us and tastefully decorated. My better half definitely enjoyed the Nespresso machine. The breakfast were very nice with an amazing view from the dining room. The bar very well stocked and the bar staff both attentive and friendly. Like many others we chose this hotel because we wanted to visit a couple of the local Michelin starred restaurants and it was perfect.

We came here for our anniversary and it was amazing from the staff to the room. Food was so good and waiter was brilliant. The grounds are beautiful and room very clean and drinks in fridge were included. Was even given a bottle of bubbles to celebrate. Will definitely recommend

A special weekend to celebrate my wife's special birthday, a great weekend, staff were very attentive and friendly. The location of the estate is fabulous right on the side of the Thames and very close to Bray village, well recommended for any special occasion, or a quiet weekend of dining with good drinks

Service was a very high standard and made to feel comfortable and special. I thought the room a little small if you were to spend much time in it. Lots to do and village is friendly, welcoming and beautiful

We stayed just the one night as a birthday treat for my 70th birthday. The whole experience made it a truly memorable occasion, from the warm welcome at reception, to the hand written birthday message when we got to our room, to complimentary birthday drinks, to the superb dinner, all the staff were so attentive, nothing was too much trouble.

The cottage setting, surrounded by nature, provided an immersive experience that allowed us to unwind and appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. The cottage and the details in each room and corner are charming😍, and the lake surrounded by hotel was amazing.
We didn’t try their breakfast or restaurant, it is quite expensive.

There are some flaws , the phone wasn’t working which make the receptionist came to our cottage for inquiries, the electricity went down in midnight for about 5 hours and buzzer turned on, which was inconvenient.
Overall, it is a worthy experience 👍

Had a lovely overnight stay at monkey island. Lovely environment, rooms clean and amazing service from everyone from reception to the restaurant. Food also very good standard too.

We were treated to a night here, and from 10+ years ago from our last visit, a fantastic improvement 👏 well done, from the room, the welcome, the service and the food. It was excellent.

Fantastic food quality, staff incredibly helpful. Perfect for hosting events and team building days - would highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay!

A fabulous getaway island with beautiful grounds, planting and accommodation.
I booked for a long weekend a found the team extremely friendly during our stay.

The weekend breakfast hot and cold buffet is quite a gastronomic feast with lots of cold meats, cheeses, fruits as well as the obligatory Full English Breakfast choices. There’s a small menu for additional dishes too.

We made use of the bar and the small light bites menu for a couple of evenings. They really are small so don’t plan this for an evening meal. Suited us fine as we dined in the local town.

Only one item worth a comment is that after a weekend the breakfast buffet isn’t served, you just have to order directly. The guests are usually business travellers and will bring their laptops into the restaurant, conduct their calls and interrupt the ambience.

Highly recommend for a fun and special stay.

I was a happy attendee to a beautiful wedding weekend here. The staff Luke, Bijou and Ewa felt like family by the end of the weekend. They made the whole event incredibly fun, were always attentive and focused. The food at the wedding dinner was better than I had in south of france 2 days prior! Ceremony, food, fun, brunch and atmosphere presented perfectly. My room in the temple was gorgeous (I might have overslept the wedding brunch thanks to the incredible bed). Looking forward to host my 10 year wedding anniversary party here!! 😉 I have been to 5* weddings in USA, SoF and UK and this place scores top marks. 10/10 recommend!

Outstanding, delightful experience here at this gem of a property. Walking over the bridge to the rooms, the massage in the "floating spa" boat, and the exquisite food was all amazing.

Lovely quiet beautiful place to get away from the crowds. Better if you have a car to get around. The staff was very friendly and helpful! The rooms were a nice size. Food was wonderful!
It would be a nice addition to have kayaks or a small boat to use on the river. The hotel should have bikes to use along with a few outdoor activities like bocci or croquet. A pool would be amazing as there is not a lot to do there other than walk the beautiful gardens.
Great stay for a couple of days before going to the airport. We took an Uber to Windsor which was about a 15 minute drive.

This is a beautiful hotel. The grounds are so charming and the rooms are comfortable. The service level is top notch. We ate breakfast at the hotel and it was also fantastic - lots of fresh fruit as well as the usual (well prepared) breakfast fare like eggs, sausage, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms, etc.

Just the best. Staff, location, room, food all fabulous. Went with friends for our 25th wedding anniversary and were made to feel very special indeed. Thank you Monkey Island Estate

Called to see a friend. Stopped for lunch and a couple of drinks. Amazing views, sitting having a drink overlooking the river, watching private and charter water craft crawl by. Even some youngsters with the energy to paddle by in their canoe. The grounds are kept immaculately, as are the buildings and garden structures. The food was brilliant with lots of choice. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

This is a wonderful place. Not only are the grounds stunning, the rooms beautifully furnished, and the main areas tastefully decorated, but the staff (every single person) were so friendly and attentive. Breakfast is superb, with quality ingredients. Dinner amazing. This is a one of a kind hotel.

Quite expensive, but you get buckets of quality in return. The grounds are gorgeous and so were the staff. Had probably the best massage of my life at the floating spa. Food was delicious and every single ingredient had so much flavour. On the downside, the temple room was a bit smaller than expected, with the walls being quite thin alongside a creaky bed.

The location is stunning and all the accommodation is first class. We celebrated our Golden Wedding Day here and all the staff without exception were so kind and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The food is amazing and The bar and Brasserie was relaxing and calm. Thank you all so much.
