Fantastic walk around the beautiful Dene. We were very lucky with the weather and the trees provided plenty of shade which was very welcoming on the uphill sections. We were also lucky that one of our group was a local and knew the routes and explained the kissing frog stones etc. Highly recommended.

Fantastic walk! Very good paths. The main one is with hard surface. Great old yew trees. With nice sunshine playing among young leaves looks like from fairy tale (only problem is that fairies are missing as probably they are busy playing with unicorns)
At the bottom of the path there is a huge viaduct (try to play with your own voice echoing under it) and a lovely meadow full of flowers.

Absolute little gem!

My sister found the "Squirrel Walk" 🐿 as part of my niece's Pawprint Family Squirrel patch and we were not disappointed!

Easy to get to from the A19 (well sign posted).

The route is marked by the 🐿 sign as you go round the reserve. We didn't get to see any squirrels but that was probably due to the time of day but we did see tons of wildlife!

The path is worn so easy to know which way your going - quite a hilly walk as what goes down must go up :) lovely bridge to walk over.

At the end there is a nice cafe with indoor and outdoor seating - the ice cream is AMAZING! Really good pricing and lots of options available. Owners/Staff we're really friendly, approachable and helpful.

Their is also a little nature walk round a pound in the garden area of the café.

We will definitely be back to do the other walk and repeat the Squirrel walk! Worth a visit!

Absolutely stunned by this place, the walks in the woodlands are breathtaking and there's a lovely cafe for coffee and cake after exploring. Can't wait to return!

Lovely walk, well maintained but not the easiest due to being a little hilly and the track can be a little slippy if wet.
£3 car parking for the day or £1.50 for 1hr. Payable in the cafe or via an app.

Lovely walk, but muddy and steep in places. We parked in the Nature Reserve Car park, £3 all day, paid on RingGo app, good phone signal. Loos at car park. Lots of interesting rocks and waterfalls.

Awesome place to go for a long walk! There is a beautiful house/castle near by, be careful because it is private land. I've just discovered that this castle is a bed and breakfast so if you want to explore the inside you have to pay around £200 per night.

Great place to take the dogs for a walk, loads of different paths to walk, with steep climbs and a stream to make it interesting.
For nature lovers there are Owls, Woodpeckers, Deer, and foxes if you are lucky to catch them.

Beautiful walk in the winter, saw female deer 🦌 in front of me on the path! What a site at close quarters! Lots of grey squirrels to see and the odd rare sighting of a red so I, m told! Found four foot icicles encasing vivid green ivy hanging from the limestone cliffs! Dense, yew trees overhang to give a dusky light that somehow calms the sole!

A picturesque and tranquil walk though some amazing countryside trails. Exploring all the interconnecting paths and bridges, make sure you take water and food as your likely to be there for hours.

Fantastic walk, bit heavy underfoot at times, expected due to the time of the year, good hour and a half wander, now knackered, chihuahua completely goosed, definitely recommend

Beautiful place. The car park and access to the Dene were open but the cafe wasn't due to ongoing lockdown restrictions. Lovely place for a walk with my 4 year old.

Good place to walk. Lack of signs. Map don't make sense but just find your own way.
Those maintaining this area please provide signs and update them on map.

Great place for walks and dog walking, lots of wildlife and wild flowers, lots of conker trees if any one still goes conkering, wild garlic along the bank sides, various places for parking .

Lovely place for a walk there are paths going around or like us we walk through the stream for an adventure. There isn't very much parking so may need to park on a side street. Lovely place for a visit.
